The dimly lit room buzzed with a tension that only comes with the final moments before a mission. Clara sat at the worn oak table, her eyes narrowed as she studied the blueprints spread before her. The soft glow of a single desk lamp cast long shadows across the intricate lines of the plans, making the details seem even more daunting.

Felix stood behind her, his broad shoulders and tall frame giving off a sense of calm determination. His fingers absently traced the edge of the table, but his mind was clearly focused on the task ahead. They had planned this for weeks, meticulously going over every detail, every possible obstacle, and every contingency. Yet, as the clock ticked closer to the appointed hour, the enormity of what they were about to do weighed heavily on them both.

"We can still call it off, you know," Felix said, his voice low and steady, but there was an undercurrent of concern that Clara could easily detect.

She looked up at him, her eyes reflecting a mix of resolve and warmth. "We've come too far, Felix. This is the only way to take him down. We can't back out now."

Felix's gaze softened as he watched her. She was eight weeks pregnant, and though she had insisted that it wouldn't slow her down, he couldn't help but worry. The thought of her and their unborn child in danger twisted his insides, but he knew better than to question Clara's resolve. She was fierce, driven, and incredibly smart—qualities that had drawn him to her in the first place.

Clara reached out, placing her hand over his. "I need you with me on this, Felix. We need to finish what we started."

He nodded, gripping her hand tightly. "Always."

The heist was set to take place at the towering office building owned by their rival, Victor Mikhailov—a ruthless businessman with ties to nearly every illicit operation in the city. Clara and Felix had uncovered enough dirt on Mikhailov to put him away for life, but they needed one more piece of evidence to ensure his empire crumbled for good. It was stored in a heavily guarded safe on the top floor of his headquarters.

The plan was as risky as they came: infiltrate the building under the guise of a late-night cleaning crew, bypass the sophisticated security systems, and extract the data without alerting Mikhailov's extensive network of guards. They had managed to secure uniforms and forged IDs, but the success of the mission would hinge on timing and precision.

As they approached the building in an unmarked van, the city around them seemed eerily quiet. The moon hung low in the sky, casting a pale light over the streets. Felix, dressed in the navy blue uniform of a janitor, adjusted the cap on his head and turned to Clara, who was clad in similar attire. Her hand instinctively rested on her abdomen, a gesture that had become more frequent in recent days.

"Ready?" he asked, his voice a quiet murmur.

Clara nodded, her face set in a determined expression. "Let's do this."

They exited the van and walked towards the building's service entrance, their steps synchronized. Clara's heart pounded in her chest, not from fear, but from the thrill of what they were about to do. She had always been an adrenaline junkie, and this heist was no exception. But there was something different this time, something that made her more cautious, more aware of every decision she made. The life growing inside her was a constant reminder that she had more at stake now than ever before.

Felix swiped the forged ID card through the reader by the door, and after a tense moment, the light blinked green. They were in. The cool, sterile air of the building greeted them as they stepped inside, the hum of the ventilation system the only sound in the quiet corridor.

They moved quickly, each step rehearsed and precise. The layout of the building was imprinted in their minds, and they navigated the hallways with ease. Every corner they turned, every doorway they passed, was another step closer to their target.
