In all her time at the hotel, she has never seen someone her age. Usually just old men with golden pocket watches giving them odd looks and women with very expensive dresses. The cost is super expensive, which is probably why. But Sophie had never seen anyone that was the same age as her until today.

The girl is in a short, tight, green dress with heels so tall it has to hurt. She's stumbling and holding a tiny metal flask in her hand, laughing psychotically. There are times Sophie has seen people in this state on the street, but never here. The girl trips over to the register and smiles groggily, "I need a room."

The woman at the front desk raises an eyebrow but ducks her head to cover it, "Are you... sure you can afford it? This hotel is pretty expensive, but there's a motel down the-"

"She paid for it, didn't she?" The girl points straight at Sophie, who is punching in numbers into the vending machine. Her and Keefe have taken a liking to British packaged food.

Sophie falters in surprise, "Uh, yeah, I paid for my room," She walks over to the reception desk, "I've been staying for a few weeks."

The green dress girl smirks lazily, "See? I can pay. Just tell me how  to and I will be on my way," She points a finger at the elevator. This girl obviously isn't in the state to pay for a room, especially if she'll regret it tomorrow when she's sober. Sophie tentatively puts  hand on the girls arm, "Why don't you let me pay for your first night here, huh? I'm pretty sure the room right next to mine is open, you can stay there and in the morning I can check up on you."

"You think I can't pay?" The girl snaps, tugging her arm away from Sophie, "Because I can. My dad gave me this card thing and said I can go get food with my friends tonight."

The receptionist ushers them to the side to check in a couple while Sophie frantically tries to keep the girl from yelling.

Sophie tugs on an eyelash, "You aren't sober, they won't let you pay for a room."

"I'm drunk." The girl says flatly, face palming. "My dad is going to kill me with his bare hands. Who even are you, anyway?"

"I'm Sophie."

"Charlie."

Sophie reaches out to steady her, "Why don't I just pay for your room for one night, mkay?" She waits for her to agree before paying for the room right next to hers. Sophie helps her into the elevator and to her door, "Okay, try to sleep-"

She's barely gotten her sentence out before the girl falls asleep in her dress, face down on the couch. Sophie sighs and goes back to her room.

----

"Where were you last night, Foster?" Keefe mutters sleepily, turning over on his back underneath the blankets. "I was really looking forward to playing that new board game thing, what was it, Uno?"

Sophie sighs, "I'm sorry, I was helping this girl. She was drunk and I paid for her room for last night, is that okay? I should have asked you first, I know, I just wasn't thinking-"

"Chill, Foster. It's fine, we have more than enough money to pay for someone else. Though I've got to say, this is adorable." Keefe smooths the crease between her eyebrows as he sits up out of bed and stretches. "You're cute when you're worried."

"I'm glad you enjoy my pain. Now I have to go next door and give that girl massive amounts of coffee, are you okay here?" Sophie crouches down to tie the laces on her shoes.

Keefe gets out of bed and pulls on a shirt, "Can I come with you? I haven't really spoken to anyone human since we've gotten here."

She winces, tightening her laces as tight as possible. She heads for the door while putting her hair in a ponytail, "I dunno, Keefe. Are you sure you can be around humans without slipping up and asking some weird question about zebras?"

He follows her, "They have stripes! How weird is that? And you know I can talk to her without slipping up because you know me, Foster."

"I... she might get overwhelmed if there's two of us there."

Keefe jogs in front of her before she opens the front door, "Why are you trying to make excuses for me to stay here?"

Sophie clenches her fists, "The girl is really pretty, alright?"

"Okay...?"

"So are you."

Keefe puts a hand to his chest, "Foster, I'm so flattered you think so. Is this whole bedhead thing working for me, because I've got to say-"

"If she sees you she'll fall in love and you'll love her back and you're gonna leave me to stay in this hotel forever." Sophie grits out. She ducks her head so Keefe doesn't she how embarrassed she is to admit that, but it is true. The girl had shiny red hair and freckles everywhere, and pretty green eyes. Sounds like Keefe's type.

His gaze softens, "Foster..." He puts his finger under her chin and brings her gaze to him, "I will never not love you. You will always be on the very top of my priorities list, and that will never ever change."

Ro whistles from the corner.

"Can we just go and help her?" Keefe asks, ducking his head so they're eye to eye.

Sophie sighs, "Fine."

He smiles and nuzzles her nose with his adorably. "Thank you."

"Let's go help this girl."
