Chapter 9: Another Portal

Finally! After losing my way a lot of times in the new roads I finally arrive Mystery Shack!

"I miss this place so much I could kiss the walls here!" Dipper didn't realize that he said it out loud, and people nearby are looking at him weirdly.

"Haha, ha..." Dipper gave them an awkward laugh, and continued his way in the Shack. There were familiar faces in the shack. Grunkle Stanley and Grandpa Stanford, leading tourists; Soos, the new manager of Mystery Shack; and Wendy, still working in Mystery Shack. Dipper realized a lot of things changed here.

Even though he just met Soos the day before, he just realized how much weight Soos lost comparing to the first time Dipper came to Gravity Falls. He looked a lot like a completely moral man with a proper job. Wendy changed too. She went for dresses and skirts more than jeans and shorts, in other words she started to get girly. Maybe a case of escaping from the teenage times to evolve into an adult. She cut her hair short and gave herself a little curl. The Wendy now looks very different from the Wendy before, but she still acts like the cool big sister Dipper remembered she was.

As soon as Dipper came in the shack, Wendy's eyes were wide with shock. She came out of the cashier desk and ran towards Dipper.

"Dipper!" Wendy gave a big hug to Dipper, and Dipper politely hugged back. Wendy wasn't anymore Dipper's crush, as Dipper grew older his feelings to Wendy faded and now Wendy is just a big sister to him. Dipper would think back at the times when he was deeply in love with the red haired girl. Sometimes childhood can be dumb! Tambry was right.

"Hey Wendy. Miss me?"

"Miss you? I've waited sick long for you. When was the last time you came to Gravity Falls? About between 7 to 10 years?"

"7 years." Dipper smiled. He missed Wendy, everyone is the Mystery Shack,too.

"Dipper!" Soos came out, too. He stretched his big arms and surrounds them around both Wendy and Dipper. He hugged tight, as if he was afraid of losing them then lift them both up.

"Woah ho!" Dipper and Wendy laughed. Even though Dipper and Soos just met yesterday, Soos still misses this grown up adult that was Soos' best friend, and still is, every second.

"You missed it all dude! Before you came Mr. Stanley wore a wolf costume to attract the tourists!"

"I heard what you sad and that's not true!" Grunkle Stan, still has the grumpy voice Dipper remembered, "Dipper! Come on here and give your old man a hug!"

"Your old mans a hug!" Stanford appeared behind Stanley.

Dipper smiled in delight and walked towards the twins. They both wrapped their hands around Dipper, and Grunkle Stan rubbed his head.

"Look at you! All grown up. Got your chest hair?"

"Nop." Dipper smiled, teeth out, as if it he was proud of it.

"Good, don't end up like your old man."

"Dipper, I read all the books you wrote that you sent me. Good job." Stanford gave Dipper a thumbs up, " One thing though, faries don't bite."

"Grandpa it bit you!"

"Haha, yea, I was just testing you if you forgot everything about the mysteries here. Good job."

"Hey dude you brought Doorbell!" Soos said as he kneeled to pet the pig. Doorbell still remembered Soos for it oinked in delight at Soos and Wendy that was walking towards it.

"Hey-uh, Stanford, I still got a tour to lead. Why don't you show Dipper the 'problem'?" Grunkle Stan looked towards Soos and Wendy, and they immediately turned away to check if anyone is near. Then, Gruncle Stan went back to take the tourists to the forest.
