Chapter Fourteen: Unknown Sights

Colchis, Ancient Greece

"You're our kids?" Skye asked, her mouth hanging open. "And... and you're my brother! Why... how..."

"We kind of... accidentally went back in time." Gale shrugged shamelessly, like this happened to him every day.

"But you're from the future," Adrian said. He was looking at his sister, her blonde hair pulled and another invisibility cap hanging from her waist.

"And you're from the future!" Skye gestured to the other teenagers. "You're... like, our specific children?"

The guy ruffled his blonde hair. "Chase Perseus Jackson," he said.

Adrian's mouth dropped. Addie rolled her eyes. "You guys look exactly the same," she said. Except for the blonde hair and color changing eyes, they had the same facial features.

Skye bit her lip, because those eyes... he had to be her son as well. And the way Chase was looking at her...

"I'm your mother," Skye said.

Addie turned to the other girl. "I'm Calypso," she said. "Calypso Emilia Levesque-Valdez. But everyone calls me Callie."

Addie tried not to faint again. She hated the fact that she was so prone to it- it made everyone feel like she was weak when she wasn't.

That also meant she had a child with Ryan. She tried not to be too excited about that.

She studied Calypso carefully. If she thought being mixed was hard... Callie was part black, Chinese, and Mexican, not to mention a descendant of Poseidon, Mars, Pluto, Atlas, and Hephestaus. Addie could see parts of all of these in her, but she also saw pride in the way she carried herself, and strength. And if her daughter was strong, surely she could be strong too. Even though it was a little weird that Callie was older than her.

Suddenly there was a shout from the palace. "I think they discovered the chopped fleece," Skye said.

Gale started forward, then tripped on something in the sand. When he stood, he was holding a glowing orange stone put into an intricate- and cracked- watch face.

"Is that..." Adrian trailed off, reaching for the stone. "There's no freaking way."

"I guess our offering worked," Addie said.

They crowded around the stone. Skye turned the dials, but nothing happened.

"I don't think I'm closely enough related to Kronos to make it work," she said, panicked.

Adrian tried to move the watch hands. Their hands brushed against each other, and Adrian kept his fingers over hers, his eyes locked on Skye, as they moved the watch hands together.

There were shouts from the city as soldiers began moving towards them. The watch began to glow, then move more and more, until they were surrounded by an orange light.

When the orange light left, they were immediately dropped into open air. Skye tried to control the wind and slow their descent, but it was Adrian who reached out to control the water beneath them and cushion their blow.

They landed in the water with a splash. Skye treaded water while Adrian kept the other afloat, the wetness of his clothes showing his amount of concentration.

"Where are we?" Callie asked.

Suddenly there was the sound of a boat chopping through water. "The Argo!" Addie shouted.

"Wait!" Adrian held up a hand, squinting at the dark masts and large but old ship. "It's not the Argo."

The ship got closer and closer, and suddenly a wave of water scooped them up, dumping them onto the deck. Skye coughed up water, and Adrian touched her chest so that water flew out. "Thanks," she said.

"How did you do that?" A familiar voice asked behind them.

Adrian turned. In front of him were the two most familiar faces in his life- one with his dark hair and sea-green eyes, one with blonde hair and gray eyes.

It was his parents.

They couldn't be older than thirteen, and that's when it clicked- "We're in the sea of monsters," Adrian said.

Annabeth frowned. "Duh," Percy said.

"I'm a son of a Nereid," Adrian said quickly. "This is my brother, Chase, and my sister, Gabi."

"I'm Skye," Skye said. "This is my brother, Gale. We're descendants of Zephyr.

"I'm Addie, and this is my sister Callie." Addie said, glancing at the others. "We're... granddaughters of Nyx."

"And Janus," Callie added. "You know, many faces." As they watched, her face rippled to become Annabeth's, then Percy's.

"You're a shapeshifter!" Skye exclaimed. When Percy and Annabeth looked at her strangely, she shrugged. "I didn't know," she said.

"What are everyone else's powers?" Annabeth asked.

Chase and Callie shared a look, and Addie guessed that Chase's powers didn't quite line up with Adrian's Nereid idea. "I don't really have any," Chase said quickly.

"Me neither," Gabi added. Addie remembered she had inherited wisdom from her mother. "But I can breathe underwater. And... she dipped her hand in the water sloshing around the deck. Immediately her legs fused into a purpley bluish tale.

"Cool," Percy said. Gabi blushed.

Adrian looked like he was trying to hide his shock, but he waved his hand so the water left Gabi and her clothed legs reappeared.

"I can manipulate the wind," Skye said. She figured her lightning powers would be too much to explain.

She glanced at Gale. She knew he could charmspeak, so he just shook his head.

"I can control gemstones," Addie said. "It's a pretty niche Nyx talent, but..."

"Nice," Percy said. "I've got some water control myself. Annabeth here is super smart."

"We've been floating since Circe's," Adrian said. "We were trapped there."

"Hey, us too!" Percy said.

"I need to talk to you," Annabeth hissed, pulling him aside. Addie could only imagine she was saying something about not trusting them or whatnot.

"So what do we do now?" Skye asked as they huddled up. She held out the broken Kronos watch.

Adrian shrugged. "No idea," he said.
