Chapter 4: Special

3 Hours Later...

Kia is getting ready for her date, trying to find a nice dress to wear while she does her makeup, do her hair, and spray some nice perfume on. Twenty minutes later jasiah pulls up and picks up kia and opens the car door for her and arrives at their destination.

Drive-In Movie

"Love And Basketball" is playing

Jasiah: (stares) you look nice, and smell really good.

Kia: (blushes) Thank you , so do you.

Jasiah: I do my 1's and 2's

Kia: I see you

Jasiah: So what do you like to do?

Kia: I love to dance.

Jasiah: Like you did at the party huh?

Kia: Something better than that.

Jasiah: Ohh that's wassup I like that.

Kia: (giggles) what bout you?

Jasiah: I play football you know what i'm saying.

Jasiah: Where are you from?

Kia: Crenshaw, LA 

Jasiah: Phoenix, Arizona

Kia: Ohh you from here

Jasiah: Yeah type shit, but how do your folks feel about you being here?

Kia: (looks away from him) my dad died a while ago, my moms okay with it.

Jasiah: (grabs her chin and turns it back towards him) I'm so sorry for your loss.

Kia: I appreciate it. (looks sad)

Jasiah: You don't gotta be sad, I'm here for you.

Kia: He was in the street more than with us

Jasiah: Maybe that was his only way to cope with things.

Kia: Probably but I guess we'll never know.

Jasiah: And that's ok.

Kia: I appreciate you seriously

Jasiah: (grabs hand) I know we just met but I'm here for you.

Kia: Thank you (looks into his eyes in deep aww of him)

Jasiah: I enjoy spending time with you.

Kia: I enjoy spending time with you as well.

Kia is dropped off at her dorm by Jasiah after they have finished seeing the movie and talking. Kia and Niaomi decide to try and complete their project the following day. That is expected to be due in a few days.

Niaomi: How was the date with my big head brother?

Kia: It waass good.

Niaomi: You gotta give me more than that girl (laughs)

Kia: We got to know each other a little bit and it kind of got a little deep (laughs).

Niaomi: Oh lord what did he say? Did he make you uncomfortable?

Kia: No not at all i kinda told him something about my dad but he was really sweet and comforting.

Niaomi: Ohhh, That's good he did that. I taught him well! (laughs)

Kia: (laughs) you funny, but enough about me and your brother is there someone you got your eye on?

Niaomi: Girl my man go here (laughs)

Kia: Ohhh okay I see you.

Niaomi: Yea that's why i was trynna see how the date went so you know we all could be friends.

They began wrapping up their project after catching up, and they finally completed it. After that, Niaomi arranges for them to go on a double date of sorts. After getting ready and dressed, they all headed to the skating rink.

Skating Rink

Niaomi: Kia this is my man Kyree, baby this is Kia.

Kyree: Yoo wassup.

Kia: Hey nice to meet you.

Jasiah: (puts his arm around kia shoulders)

Kyree: This you my boy?

Jasiah: Not yet.

Kia: (blushing)

Kyree: (daps him up) type shit, I ain't never seen you be like this with no other girl bro.

Niaomi: Boyy (laughs). That is true he always getting chased and never does the chasing.

Jasiah: I aint like doing relationships frl, but her right here is different.

Kia: Ohhh really?

Jasiah: (looks at her in the eyes) Yeah.

Kia: (looks him in the eyes) mhmm.

Niaomi: Ummm are we interrupting ??

Kyree: Nah frl, yall know something we don't.

Jasiah: Mann, like I said she's different.

Kyree: Not my boi siah in love (laughs)

Niaomi: Okay guys now let's get to skating.

They all started skating together, then divided into groups of two. Niaomi went with Kryee, while Kia and Jasiah skated together. As they all skate around the rink, Kia comes so close to falling, but Jasiah catches her in time. While he helped her stand back up. He looks her in the eye and pulls her close. Their lips are almost in contact as they stand there with their eyes interlocked. To break the tension between them she slowly pulled herself away, Kia smiled as she said, "Thank You". "I always got you, ma" he says. He grasps her to finish skating.
