~3rd person~

Ivey and Rory sat in the living room watching some movie they've already seen a hundred times.

Lorelai came in frantically on the phone with Sookie talking about dinner.

Ivey looked over at her sister raising her brow.
Rory shook her head, silently telling her sister she knew nothing of dinner plans.

"Hey mom" Ivey called out

"Yeah, sweetie" Lorelai yelled from the kitchen

"What's going on" Rory asked

"Oh, Luke and his nephew are coming over for dinner" Lorelai said causing Ivey to stiffen

"Luke has a nephew?" Rory asked her sister

"Yeah, uh, I met him yesterday" the blonde replied

"Ivey Jade Gilmore are you blushing?" Rory exclaimed

"What? Ew no" she answered

Rory didn't say another word as she smiled to herself.

"I'm going to hang out with Dean, what time do you want me home?" Rory asked Lorelai as she joined her daughters in the living room.

"Be home by about 6:30, they'll be here at 7:00. You know I love Dean, but I don't think him and Jess would get along so don't invite him tonight, okay?" Lorelai explained and the brunette nodded

"I'm going to Luke's" Ivey said getting up and sliding her shoes on before exiting.

"Don't have too much fun, Ives" Rory yelled as her sister closed the door.

"Ohhhhh Grumpy" I called out

"Back here, Sunshine" Luke called from the storage room

"Hey, I heard mom roped you and Jess into dinner tonight " I said upon entering

"Oh yeah that. I think he likes you, Jess I mean. The nicest he's been since he got here was the 5 seconds he talked to you" he informed

"Please, he can't like me after a "5 second" conversation" I dismissed  even though it made my heart rate jumpstart from 70 to 100

"You'll talk to him for me, won't you? If anyone can get through to him it'll be you. You're the best life coach an old guy could have" Luke joked

"You know it's easy, you're actually pretty amazing Luke Danes. Of course I'll talk to him" I replied

"I love you, kiddo" he said

"Hey! What happened to no chick flick moments" I questioned with a wide smile

"Get out" he sighed

"I love you too, Luke." I said before leaving the back room

When I returned to the dining area I saw Jess sitting at the counter reading A Farewell To Arms, he likes Hemingway? Oh someone pinch me.

I sat down grabbing a donut and taking a small bite.

"Hey Angel" Jess said not looking up from his book

"Ivey" I corrected

"I know you're name, angel" he smirked

"So, you're coming to dinner at my house" I said

"Yeah, I guess I am" he responds

"Good" I said

"Good" you couldn't do better than that, Ivey?

"I love that book" I say changing the topic

"You like Hemingway?" He asked furrowing his brows
