"She has a fucking key?!" Ashley yelled out in the middle of a heated discussion after Olivia had caught them in a compromising position.
"She stays here a lot! Of course she has a key, it would be so annoying to have to lend her my keys all of the time" Max shrugged as he excused himself and Liv.
"There should be no keys at all Max, that is not normal!" Ashley said passionately.
"Of course it is!" said Max with a furrowed brow.
"No it isn't! It is also not normal for your girl best friend to have her own bedroom inside your apartment" Ashley's eyes were wide and her face was flushed with anger as she got dressed.
"Well where is she supposed to sleep!" Max yelled out.
"At her own apartment!" Ashley yelled. She took a deep breath and sighed "Max you need boundaries. If this is gonna work then there needs to be some boundaries with Olivia" Ashley said with clenched fists and a strong stance.
Max made a face of disgust at the mention of 'Olivia' it sounded so wrong coming from Ashley. Like word venom. Max didn't actually want boundaries, but he also didn't want Ashley to leave and he did want to keep his distance from Liv at least temporarily. Until his feelings went away. So reluctantly he nodded.

By afternoon the next day, Liv still hadn't heard a word from Max. She was feeling more and more hurt every hour that went by without a call or a text from him. Still, she refused to call him. Sure, she had barged into his apartment and caught him having sex with his... his girlfriend? Liv didn't even know anymore, but he had been the one to push her out of the apartment. Her ego wouldn't allow her to dial his phone number. He would come around eventually, she was sure.Liv parked near the docks the next day. She and Ava grabbed their bags from the back of Liv's car. They had just started walking when they saw Lewis coming from the docks "Hey! Liv!" he called out as he raised his arm and waved.
"Hey Lewis!" Liv smiled as she waved back.
Lewis jogged the next few meters until he reached them. He greeted Liv with a kiss on the cheek and turned to Ava "Hey, nice to meet you I'm Lewis".
"Oh I know" nodded Ava knowingly "We have talked about you a lot, I'm Ava by the way" she said serenely.
Lewis chuckled "Lovely to meet you" he said "Listen I think we're gonna need more ice for the drinks so I'm gonna head to the store real quick and come back. You guys make yourselves at home. You see that boat over there? The one with the red umbrellas?" He said pointing farther away down the dock.
"Oh yeah I see it" nodded Liv.
"That's the one. I'll be back in a second alright?".
"Sure, no problem" Liv smiled at him.
Then Lewis' eyes saw the car behind them and he recognized it immediately from a story Liv had told him the day of their date. "Oh no way!" he said as a wide smile appeared on his face "That's the car you told me about! The Max!"
Liv laughed "Yeah it is! This is Max" she said proudly as she turned to look at her red convertible.
"Holly shit. Can I drive it to the store? I really really want to drive it please" said Lewis.
Liv smiled "Sure, have fun" she said handing him the keys.
Lewis let out a small laugh "This is fantastic. I'll be right back" he said taking the keys and happily walking towards the car. They both watched him drive off before they headed towards the boat.
