-next day-

Sonic awoke with a start and quickly sat up unsure how long he had been sleeping for, quickly he crawled over to the edge of the bed but the sudden movement caused a head rush and he flipped over off the bed and onto the floor.

"Oof.." he grunted once he fell onto his back.

With a groan he sat up again and rubbed his eyes as he let out a small yawn, once he regained himself he stood up and walked to the bathroom where he washed up and got ready for the day ahead, when he was done with that he went downstairs and to the kitchen where he found Mephiles and Shadow making breakfast.

"Hey Sonic," Shadow greeted.

"Hey." Sonic responded, sitting down at the already set table.

Suddenly Scourge ran into the room and quickly skidded to a stop before sitting down on the other side of the round table.

"What's the hurry?" Sonic asked, putting some pancakes on his plate.

"I just heard there is a new jewelry store nearby and I need to get to it before Rouge does." Scourge answered before scarfing down his food.

Sonic nodded in understanding and put syrup on his pancakes. "Hope they catch you this time." Was all he said before eating his breakfast.

Mephiles and Shadow paused and glanced at Sonic before looking at each other.

"Pfft." Scourge waved off. "They can't even get there in time to see my shadow."

"I can." Sonic smirked.

"Is that a challenge?" Scourge asked, staring at his little brother.

"Hehe, maybe." Sonic chuckled.

"Alright you two, settle down." Mephiles interrupted.

Sonic smiled a bit and drank a cup of milk to distract himself from any stares, and as quick as he came Scourge dashed off out of the kitchen and out the door.

Umbra then walked in and sat down next to Sonic who looked down tightening his grip on the fork he held in his hand, Mephiles and Shadow sat down as well when they finished making breakfast, Shadow sat down on the other side of Sonic and put a hand on his shoulder.

Sonic looked at him and nodded slightly in understanding before turning his attention back to his food, Shadow and Umbra then glanced at each other unsure what to say.

"I'm going to go see Tails after breakfast." Sonic said, not looking at any of them.

"Alright," Mephiles nodded. "As long as Shadow goes with you."

Sonic paused and looked up at Mephiles before looking over at Shadow who didn't seem to really notice, Sonic smiled and wrapped his arm around him. "Lucky you." Sonic teased with his usual cocky smile.

"Oh joy." Shadow rolled his eyes.

"Haha, you want to come." Sonic lightly punched his shoulder. "Admit it."

"I will not deny nor agree with that." Shadow replied.

Sonic backed up with a small chuckle and quickly finished his breakfast.

"All done, ready to go?" Sonic asked, looking at Shadow who hadn't even gotten a chance to take a single bite.

"Are you seriously asking me that?" Shadow asked sarcastically.

"Alright alright I'll wait." Sonic said, getting up and putting his dishes in the sink. "I will be in the living room."

With that he left the room and sat on the couch to wait for Shadow.
