-next day-
Sonic sat quietly on the couch, he already heard he couldn't leave the house for some strange unknown reason he wasn't sure why, though he didn't really want to go outside right now anyway due to it raining hard out there.
"Are you alright?"
Sonic glanced over to see Shadow and Umbra walking over to him. "Y-yeah.." Sonic nodded before looking down.
Shadow sat down on the couch next to him and Umbra sat on the chair across from them.
"Are you sure? You seem a little zoned out." Shadow said, looking at Sonic.
"I'm fine just.. Bored." Sonic answered.
"Hmm.." Umbra thought for a minute before snapping his fingers with an idea.
Without a single word Umrba reached out a hand and his hand started to glow.
Slowly Sonic looked up at him and noticed several shadows were being pulled towards Umbra's outstretched hand, he watched quietly as the shadows disappeared into his brothers hand that curled into a fist like he was holding something which in most ways he was especially when he opened it allowing a ball that was about the same size as a basketball to drop to the floor where it bounced a bit and rolled over to Sonic who smiled slightly and cautiously picked it up before tossing it back to Umbra who caught it easily.
Umbra tossed it back and Sonic caught it before running up the stairs and going to the railing that overlooked the living room, he then threw it at Umbra again and Umbra threw it back, now cheering up a bit more Sonic threw it at Shadow who quickly caught it and threw it back at Sonic who also caught it, with a wider smile he threw it down again and it came right back again, throwing it again he waited and as it came up again he jumped and grabbed it out of the air as he plummeted, he then landed safely in the middle of the room and stood up straight from his crouched position.
Sonic tossed it at Umbra again and Umbra tossed it at Shadow who caught it and threw it back to Sonic, they continued this for a while till they got bored of it, once they did Sonic sat back down and watched as Umbra waved his hand at the ball causing it to vanish.
"And now I'm bored again.." Sonic sighed, moving to lean against the arm of the couch and stared up at the ceiling.
"Why don't you make something to do?" Umbra asked.
Sonic paused and looked over at him before looking down at his hands. "I-I.. can't."
"Why not?" Umbra pressed.
"I.. locked away all my powers except one.." Sonic admitted, wrapping his arms around himself. "I didn't want to frighten or hurt anyone and.." he looked away as he felt a twinge of tears. "I-I didn't want to.. be found out."
Both stared at him for a minute before glancing at each other unsure what to say.
"Don't worry about it, we understand." they reassured him.
"I-I'm just a disappointment.. A failure and a disgrace to this family.." Sonic said, as tears started to slip down his cheeks. "I-I should never have been born."
"Sonic!" the two snapped causing Sonic to flinch.
Shadow grabbed Sonic by the arms and made him look at him.
"Don't you ever say that again!" Shadow growled, shaking him slightly. "You are not a failure, just because you chose to be a hero instead does not mean you are a disgrace, it just means you want a different future as a hero instead of a villain."
Sonic stared at Shadow as tears flooded his vision. "I-I'm s-sorry.." he murmured, looking down. "Y-you don't need this sorrow.."
With a stifled sniff he rubbed his eyes, clearing away the tears that continued to slip down his face.
