Opening Facades

You leaned in closer, moving your head to the side of his, almost closing the gap between your lips. Half your eyes were shut as you saw him moving closer, his lips just a breath away from yours.

But just as he was about to close the distance, you pulled away, your hand coming up to lightly slap his cheek. "You gotta work for it, Tetsu," you teased, using a shortened version of his name.

Kuroo's eyes widened, and he chuckled while narrowing his brows at you. "Giving me nicknames? Aw, you really do like me," he teased, puckering his lips playfully.

You licked your lips and chuckled, "Anyway," you said, pulling away from the back of the couch and walking around to sit next to him.

Kuroo watched you with a soft smile, his eyes following your every move. You crossed your arms and stared at the TV, side-eyeing him as you asked, "Why are you here again?"

He draped his arm over the back of the couch, his hand resting just behind you. "To understand each other's background, you know," he said, his tone softening as he looked at you, his expression sincere.

You smiled softly, turning to face him. "You wanna go first...?" you asked, your eyes searching his face for any sign of hesitation.

Kuroo smirked, moving his arm off the couch and crossing it over his chest. "I don't mind," he began, his tone taking on a more serious note.

"Well, I've got an older sibling, an older sister, actually. She's always been the responsible one, following the path laid out for her." he looked over at you and smiled, a sister huh?

"I decided to do my own thing, carve out my own path. Volleyball... it's more than just a sport for me. It's something I'm passionate about, something I've built my life around. That's why I love my job so much."

You nodded, understanding the depth of what he was sharing. "That's really decent, Kuroo,"

you said sincerely. "To find something you're passionate about and make it your life... not everyone gets that kind of clarity."

He shrugged slightly, his smirk turning into a genuine smile. "It wasn't easy, but it was worth it. What about you, ms annoying?" he teased, causing you to move his shoulder.

You sighed softly, leaning back into the couch. "I'm an only child, so it was just me and my parents growing up. But Kenma... Kenma was like the brother I never had." talking about your cousin made Kuroo look at you in awe,

"We hung out all the time when we were kids, and he was always there for me. Moving to Tokyo was my way of doing my own thing too, finding my path, just like you."
