Damian glanced at his notes

Damian glanced at his notes. "Progress is steady, but there are a few hiccups. Some contractors have been slow, and there's been a slight increase in costs due to material shortages. However, overall, the project is on schedule."

Eiden's jaw tightened. "Get those contractors in line. We can't afford any delays, especially with the Ellington estate going up nearby. This project needs to set a new standard in the region."

Damian nodded, making another note. "I'll make sure of it. Should we also consider increasing our budget for the estate, to ensure the quality remains top-notch?"

Eiden considered this for a moment, his fingers drumming lightly on the desk. "Yes, but only within reason. We need to maintain profitability. However, if there's an opportunity to surpass the Ellington estate in any way, take it."

Damian grinned slightly. "Understood. I'll keep a close eye on both projects."

Eiden sat down at his desk, the weight of the day's tasks already settling on his shoulders. "Good. Also, have our PR team prepare a statement about the factory proposal. Emphasize the potential benefits to the community—jobs, economic growth, that sort of thing. We need to get ahead of any negative press."

"Will do, sir," Damian replied, already planning the next steps in his mind.

As Damian moved towards the door, Eiden spoke again, his tone a bit softer. "And Damian—make sure you keep an eye on Ellington. If he's planning anything that could interfere with our projects, I want to know about it immediately."

Damian turned back, nodding seriously. "I'll keep you updated. Nothing will slip through."

Eiden watched Damian leave, the door closing softly behind him. He leaned back in his chair, exhaling slowly as he stared out the window at the stormy sky. The world outside was ruthless, and every move mattered

Unexpected call

The telephone rang with a sharp chime, breaking the early morning stillness at the Hillmont Manor. Rachael answered the call with her usual professionalism.

"Good morning . Rachael speaking," she said.

"Good morning. This is Isabella Ellington," came the voice from the other end, smooth and refined.

Rachael's eyes widened in surprise. "Oh, Lady Isabella, good morning! How may I assist you?"

"I was hoping to speak with Maevie," Isabella's tone carried a polite but firm undertone.

Rachael hesitated for a moment. " Lady Maevie.. hasn't woken up yet. Is there something I can help with?"

"I see," Isabella responded with a touch of concern. "Please inform her that I called to remind her about the dinner this evening. It's an important event, and I would appreciate it if she could confirm her attendance."

"Of course, Lady Isabella. I'll ensure that Maevie receives your message right away," Rachael assured, her voice earnest.

"Thank you very much. I look forward to seeing her," Isabella said warmly.

"Certainly, Lady Isabella. Have a wonderful day," Rachael replied, her tone respectful and courteous.

"Thank you, Rachael. You as well," Isabella concluded before ending the call.

Rachael set the receiver down gently and prepared to pass on the message, her expression thoughtful. She knew how significant this dinner was and was determined to convey the reminder with the utmost care
