Slindokuhle's POV:

I'm waiting for my fat cakes outside, and the line was very long. It was currently 6:30 am and I was running late for school.

A cool summer breeze hit my legs as I was wearing a skirt and a pullover for my uniform, hair in a slick back ponytail, and my bag hanging on my shoulder.

I quickly buy and thank the lady as I rush to the taxi rank.

After a few minutes, I arrived at school.

Middleton High School.

The pits, literally.

"Friend!!"

A loud voice comes behind me, and my friend brings me into a hug that could break my bones.

Slindo: "Haibo, relax hawu. You'll break my bones twin!"

Neo: "Sorry, but I missed you twin!"

I roll my eyes. "It's been a week, Neo. A week."

Neo: "I don't care bruh, where's your mansss?"

I giggle at the thought of seeing my boyfriend. We went to the summer holidays for a week, but it felt like FOREVER!

Neo: "I've seen him around..."

Slindo: "Where's is he?"

Neo: "Somewhere with Layla..."

Layla. My arch nemesis. She always wanted my boyfriend, and I guess her ego is still thriving.

We scroll on our phones until it's the first period.

During period three, I asked our teacher to go to the bathroom.
I grab my bag to fix myself.

I enter and fix myself cause HEY, I might see umuntu wami. I apply some mascara and some lip gloss to like niceee and all. A bit of vanilla to smell sweet and warm. Sunscreen to look clean.

I looked at myself for the last time. My skirt fixed just right and complimented my caramel legs. My confidence strikes through the roof, and I felt powerful. Every step I took made me good about myself.

I waltzed out of the bathroom and came across the shock of my life.

My man. MY SO CALLED MAN.

Kissing Layla. They looked so passionate and so in love. My heart dropped.

Confidence vanished. I wore a frown on my face.

His arms snaked around her waist, and giggles filled the air.

Slindo:"Kumnandi neh?"

They both stop to look at me...

Slindo's boyfriend: "Babe-"

Slindo: "Don't babe me. Don't even call me or whatsoever. Angifuni le Aids yako no Layla wako. Ni sale kahle!"

I walked past them like I never felt any pain. Deep down, I wanted to hit myself against the wall.

Every step I took matched the pace of the tears rolling down my tears.
I felt so numb. My eyes were heavy and blurry.

I couldn't see anything till I bumped into something hard.

My bag fell to the ground, leading to my things falling out.

:"The heck??"

A woody and cinnamon scent hit my nostrils, and it smelled heavenly. I knew it was a guy from his scent.

I look at him and try to wipe my tears.

:"Don't. You are smudging everything nge mascara sisi. Ungathi u yi charcoal."
