The Prototype

Work was slow, and working with ceramite was difficult. The properties that made it so strong and durable also made it incredibly difficult to machine. That plus the lack of experience working with it resulted in the first armor set taking nearly 2 months to create. The resulting armor was magnificent. Capable of being shot by laz rifles without as much as a scratch left after and could even withstand bolter fire though with damage to the plates.

The suit also provided the wielder with enough strength to bend metal beams. The speed at first left a lot to be desired. It was slow and clunky due to the weight of the suit. After some long hours with one of the workers, we came up with an idea.

We call it the "Fusion core," a hand-held size reactor battery that powers the suit. This little guy can push to suit 25 mph. It's pretty damn impressive if I say so myself, but this all is ignoring one major issue. The ceramite

We only have around 80% of the original shipment of ceramite. The reason is that making the prototype ment making a lot of mistakes in the process and wasting a lot of material that we really couldn't afford.

The workers said that with the experience they have made, making the prototype, they can create 12 suits in the spand of a month. This leaves me with the regrettable task of sourcing more ceramite.

Y/n stands in a large room with a table at its center. Seated at the table is the commissar of each ship of the local fleet.

An old man stands from his seat, his face wrinkling into one of anger and disgust.

?: You telling me that you want to go against our gracious empress just so you can go and make your little tin men!?!

Y/n: I do no such thing? All I'm saying is that we contact the Mechanicum and hatch out a deal with them for ceramite. Besides, they love technology and would probably love to tinker with the new suits

?: And how do you expect to explain this to the Adeptus Astartes!?! If they find out about this, we'll all be dead!

Murmers of agreement sound around the room

Y/n: No man has ever gotten anywhere by playing it safe. We stand at the cusp of greatness. Where we, the humans, finally get some credit for our deeds. So the we, the humans, are not just remembered as numbers on a list of those lost but the heroes that won the day! Where brave men and women get to see their family! This is what I fight for and what this project can achieve, but only with your help.

At first, there was silence, but then one
Then another

And another

Soon, the room is filled with applause as every man and woman rises from their seat in support

Getting the support of the commissars is one thing. Getting the support of the Mechanicum is another animal completely. They are a group of religious zealots that think that by converting themselves into machines, they will bring themselves closer to their Omnissiah. Aka the Empress. You have to travel to the representative located of flagship

Arriving at the representative chamber, you see papers scattered around. Y/n walks carefully to avoid stepping on them until he finally sees the thing that once was a man. Now a thing, a machine

 Now a thing, a machine

?: Hello, Commissar Y/n

Y/n: Hello Tech Priest, I come here to discuss something of great importance. Something to help further the goals of the Empress.

Tech Priest: Something of this importance would usually have a high-ranking member of the ecclesiarchy involved, but I don't see one. So what you are doing must be of the questionable variety

Y/n: As smart as ever, I have been working on a new armor pattern for the soldiers of Armageddon Steel Legion. The problem being that they made with ceramite plating. As you can imagine I'm showing a lot of trust by tell you this

Tech Priest: I'm going to assume that you have already use what source of ceramite you had up. That is why you are coming to me

Y/n: Yes

Tech Priest: Well you are in luck, I am of need of some assistance. Help me and prove that these armor patterns are worth the ceramite you used to build them and I will see to fixing your supply problem

Y/n: Thank you very much

Tech Priest: Do not thank me yet commissar Y/n? First you must get rid of lose ends for me and I would suggest you use a different name for the soldiers involved in this. Discretion is key
