6. LETTER

THE LIGHT SOUND of Bridget's letter box opening and shutting quickly awoke the girl from her slumber—she questioned why postage would come so early in the morning, unless—

The girl jumped up from her bed and just as she expected, A bright red envelope which was enclosed with a little heart embellishment.

It matched the heart patterned pyjamas perfectly.

You could take the girl out wonderland but you can't take the wonderland out the girl.

She was confused, flipping the envelope around as she wondered who it was from.

TO : BRIDGET HEART

FROM : BRIA HEART

She pursed her lips seeing her sisters name stamped onto the letter, contemplating whether it was worth opening. What was she going to tell her this time? How much better she was doing at school? or even the amount of boyfriend's she had?

It was endless and even if she wished she could cut ties with her elder sister—she couldn't. Bria would be queen one day. Her face plastered through out Wonderland. Bridget would just be second, a spare for if Bria decided to step down.

With a deep exhale, she ripped open the letter viewing the contents.

Bridget scoffed at the invite, Her sister would be getting married and she was only invited—sure the pair didn't get along all their childhood but at the end of the day, Bria and Bridget were siblings.

She wouldn't even be a bridesmaid but she expected that. She'd be treated as a regular guest, She'd be treated like an outsider. One that she's felt like her entire life.

Bria couldn't even take the time to write her name on the invite 'dear guest' she rolled her eyes as she placed the invitation onto her desk.

She stared at herself in her mirror, She wouldn't consider herself as pretty but she would say she was average.

Her sister was born with bright blonde hair with blue eyes. She was destined to be a queen, everyone said that— Bridget came out with hazel eyes and blood red hair which didn't match how she wanted to look so every now and again the girl would consume a flamingo feather to change the pigment of her hair.

She liked the pink even if her sister said it was obnoxious, she thought it was cute and to her all that mattered was her thoughts and opinions.

Bridget climbed back into bed tying to fall back asleep—It was a Saturday after all. It was interrupted by a sudden knock on her door. She huffed before standing back up and opening the door.

To her surprise, It wasn't the postman, ella, or even Merlin but a tall-ish blonde boy.

She raised an eyebrow. Why was Morgie standing infront of her at 8am in the morning?

"Oh, hello..sorry—I just didn't expect a visit this early in the morning" She opened the door, "sorry for my appearance— I would've gotten ready if I knew you were coming.. anyways come in" the girl said as Morgie walked inside.

He grimaced at the sight of pink everywhere in her room. Morgie stared at the girl, she was so colourful.

Morgie opened his mouth to speak, "Your room.. It's so, It's so-" Bridget giggled, "cute? I know!"

He looked at the girl from head to toe, even if she was in her pyjamas, he couldn't deny that the princess of Wonderland has a natural beauty. Even if he disliked her and wanted revenge for his dear Uli.

Bridget Heart was indeed very captivating.

Bridget pulled out a chair from her desk, "come on, take a seat!"

With a hint of hesitation he ended up sitting on the girls fluffy chair. It was so soft. He never experienced such comfort in one of the chairs in Uliana's Lair.

They were always made of hard wood, moulding on the legs of the chair and wobbly.

"Comfortable right?" Bridget laughed at the boys face as she started boiling her kettle, she had a mini drink station in her room, "tea?" she asked.

"uh, sure.." he was uncertain if he should've accepted her offer. What if she had laced the rims of the cup with poison?

Bridget sat on the chair beside the table which separated them. She placed the hot cup of plain tea before asking, "sugar and milk?"

The son of Morgana looked at her blankly, he didn't know what to say..he never drank tea before, "I-uh. I've never had tea." he admitted to the princess.

Shocked, she asked, "really?" the boy shrugged, "well then I'll make your tea how I like mine, milk and extra sweet!"

As the girl stirred the cup she didn't notice the boy who sat directly infront of her who was constantly staring, "why are you so nice?"

She laughed. "I try to be, so I make friends. But no one really likes me other than Ella" she said disappointed, "That's why I moved here so I could have a fresh start. New friends."

"Oh..alright." The boy responded as he took a sip of the now lighter brown shade of tea, his eyes widened.

"This is—really good!" He exclaimed taking a few more sips, "In all honesty, I have never seen someone so inlove with tea." Bridget admitted.

"Want some biscuits? They're from back home." Bridget handed him a few heart shaped biscuits before asking, "So, you obviously came here to speak to me. What is it?"

As Morgie but into the biscuit, his tongue felt a wonder of flavours. It was delicious, "I uh..I just wanted to ask how you were, you know with the Uli situation."

Bridget's smile dropped slightly as she set her chin down on her hand, "I feel terrible. I didn't mean to you know it's just that—"

As the girl was rambling on, he looked behind her to see Uliana looking through her massive window, A angry stare symbolising for him to leave, "Oh, um i'm so sorry— I need to go" and just like that he rushed out.

Weird. Bridget thought.
