Samuel's POV.

Let me give you a recap on the past month. Since I lost our bet in the pool, I had to be Kam's model for an entire week. I was measured, pinned, poked, and photographed. And that was just in the first hour. It just got more intense as the days went on. I mean, that wasn't the first time I've modeled Kam's clothes, but it's never been so tiring. I think she was really in her head about her detachable outfit. It was mostly how she wanted it, but it wasn't perfect. And if it's one thing I know about Kamilla Ashlyn Brown, is that she is a perfectionist.

Ah, the pool. Now that was a very weird moment. I tried to kiss her, but she ducked away from me. It wasn't my intention to do that. It just happened. I've always known I was in love with Kam ever since I pulled her out of the water all those years ago. She doesn't know and she probably never will. Am I okay with that? Yes. Will I date other women even though my heart belongs to another? Also yes.

I woke up and got ready for class. When I walked into the kitchen, it was empty. I saw a sticky note on the fridge and went to look at it. "Went for a run. Be back soon. Crêpes in the microwave." I grabbed the note and threw it away, then I opened the microwave and took out the crêpes. They were nutella and cherry. My favorite.

After putting three of them on a plate, I sat down to eat. I checked my messages and saw a text from my mom. She wanted to know when our first game was. I told her it was on November 19th. She said ok and I checked my other texts. I deleted the unknown and spam texts, then watched videos on Instagram while I ate. Kam walked in the house as I was cleaning my dishes. 'Hey.' I said to her. She walked to the fridge and jumped. She pulled out her earbuds. 'Jesus Christ! You scared the crap out of me.' I laughed and dried my hands on the towel. 'Sorry.' 'It's fine.' She sighed and put her earbuds and phone on the table. I knew that sigh. It meant she was stressed and nothing was gonna get her out of it. Well, one thing would.

'Come on, bring it in.' I held my arms out in front of me. 'Sammy, no.' 'Come on. It'll make you feel better.' 'No. I'm sweaty.' 'I'll chase you.' She pointed her finger at me and smiled. 'Don't you dare.' She backed up slowly, knowing where this was gonna go. She turned on her heel and ran the moment I lunged for her. I chased her around the dining room and through the living room. She ran to the kitchen and stopped, knowing she was trapped. I walked over to her and wrapped my arms around her, lifting her off of the ground. Then, I gave her a bear hug. After a few seconds, I walked out of the kitchen and into the living room where there was more space for what was coming next.

'Okay. 1, 2, 3, ragdoll.' She went limp in my arms and started laughing. God, I loved her laugh. I bounced her a little bit before bringing her up and setting her on her feet. She smiled and threw her arms around my neck. 'Thank you.' 'No problem.' She kissed me on the cheek and walked into her room. Ragdoll bear(I know, weird name)was something we made up when we were 8. We used to just do it for fun, but as we got older we started using it as a stress reliever. It was more for her than it was for me, but I did get some satisfaction from it. Mostly from her laugh and her smile. And the kiss she always placed on my cheek.

After dropping Kam off at her class, I made my way to my own. We had a test on color and texture matching. It wasn't my favorite subject, but I was good at it. I got a 94%. I talked with Danny while we waited for class to end.

'So, when are you gonna ask Kate out?' 'I'm working up to it.' 'Dude, it's been 2 weeks.' 'I know, but I don't want to ruin our friendship. We've become really good friends in such a short time and I can't jeopardize that. I mean, you've been doing the same thing with Kamilla.' 'Yeah, but you've only known Kate for a month. Kam and I have been friends for 13 years. There's a lot more at stake.' 'I guess you're right.'
