As the Avengers were released from their cells and escorted down a dimly lit hallway to another room, they continued to discuss the mystery of how they had ended up in this unfamiliar world. Each of them had their own theories, and the tension was palpable as they tried to piece together the puzzle.

Peter Parker, still rubbing the sleep from his eyes, looked up at Vision. "You know, I've been thinking. Maybe Kang the Conqueror is behind this. Time travel, alternate realities—this is right up his alley."

Rhodey, walking just behind Peter, nodded thoughtfully. "Could be. But I've got another name in mind—the Mandarin. He's got the resources, the tech, and the power to pull something like this off. Maybe he's looking to conquer new territory, or worse, experiment on us."

Thing, bringing up the rear with his usual heavy footsteps, chimed in with his own theory. "You're both thinkin' too small. What if it's the High Evolutionary? This kinda weirdness is just his speed. Maybe he's tryin' to evolve us into somethin' new, or worse, devolve us."

"Vision, what do you think?" Rhodey asked, glancing over at the synthezoid. "You've always got a good read on these things."

Vision hesitated for a moment, his synthetic mind processing countless possibilities. "It is... plausible that any one of those individuals could be responsible. However, I believe we should consider the possibility that this could be the work of someone we have not yet encountered. An unknown force, perhaps even from a different multiverse."

Peter raised an eyebrow, noticing the slight oddity in Vision's response but dismissing it as stress from their situation. "Yeah, I guess you're right. We've faced so many threats, it's hard to know where this one's coming from."

As they approached the end of the hallway, the doors ahead slid open, revealing a room filled with monitors and a table with chairs set up in a circle. It seemed they were about to get some answers—or at least the next piece of the puzzle.

The Avengers entered the room cautiously, their eyes scanning the surroundings. In the center of the room stood the Chief of Police, Kenji Tsuragamae, flanked by two other people—a stern-looking woman with short, dark hair, and a younger man with a neutral expression. But it was the man in a sleek black suit standing slightly apart from the group that drew their attention. He was tall, with an unnerving calmness about him, and his eyes seemed to scan each of them with an intensity that was almost unnatural.

"Please, take a seat," the Chief of Police said, his voice gruff but formal. The Avengers hesitated for a moment, then complied, taking their places around the table.

The man in the suit stepped forward. "My name is Satoru, and I'm here to help determine the truth of your presence here. My quirk allows me to assess memories and detect lies, ensuring full transparency."

Steve Rogers, ever the leader, nodded cautiously. "We have nothing to hide."

Satoru nodded back and moved toward Captain America first. "This won't hurt, but it might be a bit... uncomfortable." Before Steve could react, Satoru's fingers elongated into thin, flexible tentacles. They slithered up Steve's nose, causing the seasoned soldier to grimace slightly.

Satoru's eyes closed as he delved into Steve's mind, sorting through memories, assessing the truth. After a few tense moments, the tentacles retracted, and Satoru nodded. "Captain Rogers speaks the truth. He has no ill intentions."

Next, Satoru moved to Peter Parker. Peter gave a nervous glance to Steve, who nodded reassuringly. As the tentacles extended again, Peter braced himself, holding still as they entered his nose. The sensation was odd and uncomfortable, but Peter kept quiet, his Spider-Sense on high alert the entire time. When Satoru finished, he gave the same nod of confirmation. "Peter Parker is also telling the truth."
