"So you fought one of these things before?" Max asked Steve who was sitting across from me, flicking his lighter as he nodded, "And you're 100 percent totally sure it wasn't a bear?"

"Shit. Don't be an idiot. Okay? It wasn't a bear." Dustin snapped as we all gave him looks. "Why are you even here if you don't believe us? Just go home."

"Someone's cranky." She said standing up and walking up the ladder to where Lucas was, "Past your bedtime?"

After she disappeared Steve nodded with a smile while I looked appalled at Dustin's attitude.

"That's good. Just show her you don't care."

      "What?" I snapped.

      "I don't." Dustin said.

Steve winked at him and I looked between the two of them.

"Why are you winking Steve? Stop." Dustin said storming off to the back of the bus.

"Why are you winking?" I raised my eye brows at Steve.

"Just gave the kid a little girl advice." He shrugged.

"Which was to act like you don't care?" I raised my brows and he gave me a confused look.

      "It's always worked for me."

"You're an asshole. You know that? And a total idiot." I said standing up, walking to the front of bus.

I sat in the front seat as I propped my legs up on the dash, fiddling with my necklace. Steve appeared besides me with a confused look on his face.

"What's got you all worked up?"

"I don't need you teaching Dustin to be another Steve Harrington."

"What is that supposed to mean?" Steve furrowed his brows.

"Come on Steve. You've broken nearly every girls heart in our grade."

      "I- I wouldn't say I broke their hearts. I- that's not me anymore. Okay?"

"Why? Just because you're with Nancy now doesn't mean that you still didn't-"

"I'm not with Nancy." He interrupted me.

"What? You break her heart too?"

"I didn't-" He threw his hands up in frustration, "You don't know anything, okay? You don't know me."

      "I know enough."

      "Why are you so frustrating?"

"Why are you such an asshole?"

"All I did was give the kid some girl advice-"

"Okay. No. First of all, girls like it when you show that you care. Not the opposite. Being protective or small gestures. It goes a long way. Just being a decent guy Steve. Must be hard for you." I sucked my teeth in and he rolled his eyes, "Never give Dustin girl advice again."

      "But-"

"Ah- No." I cut him off putting my finger up.

"Whatever." He said standing there silently as he swayed on his feet looking like he had something else to say.

      "What?"

"Do you really think I'm asshole?"

"No...I just- You're ignorant. You say stupid shit and you play with girls feelings. I don't think you're doing it on purpose but you're still doing it. I know that with Nancy, things were different. So...I'm sorry. For saying that you broke her heart or whatever."
