── .✦ THE FLIGHT from france to italy felt much shorter than yn had anticipated. for her, alexis, gianluca, and alessandro, the journey seemed to pass in a haze of exhaustion, as they tried to come to terms with leaving behind the intensity of the olympics and returning to their regular lives. the excitement of paris, the thrill of the games and the unforgettable moments, still lingered in their minds,

as the plane began its descent, yn glanced out the window at the familiar landscape of italy. below them lay milan, a city that effortlessly blended modernity with a deep sense of history and culture. despite the whirlwind of unforgettable experiences in paris, from the breathtaking sights to the electric energy of the olympics, a sense of relief washed over her as they returned to italy. yet, alongside that relief was an undeniable ache - a feeling she couldn't quite shake.

ran.

the mere thought of him brought a pang of longing to her chest. even though they had promised to see each other soon, she couldn't help but feel the uncertainty of when that "soon" would actually be. she pushed the thoughts aside, focusing instead on her return to conegliano and the upcoming a1 league season. volleyball had always been her grounding force, and she needed to refocus her energy there.

when the plane finally touched down, the gentle jolt brought her back to the present, a reminder that she was home. the familiar hustle and bustle of milan's malpensa airport greeted them as they disembarked, the air filled with the chatter of passengers and the rhythmic roll of luggage wheels. for yn, gianluca, alexis, and alessandro, stepping back onto italian soil was a strange mix of relief and melancholy. they had left behind the magic of paris and the thrill of the olympics, but italy - home - had its own comfort.

gianluca walked beside yn, his large hand resting on her shoulder with a brotherly protectiveness. "how are you holding up, sis?" he asked gently, sensing her unease. yn offered a small smile, appreciating his concern. "i'm okay. just... trying to adjust." she replied, though her thoughts were still drifting to paris, to ran.

gianluca nodded, his expression one of understanding. "i get it. it's not easy, coming back after everything." he paused, giving her shoulder a reassuring squeeze. "the post olympic transition is tough for all of us, but i know it's harder when you're leaving someone behind."

yn's eyes softened at his words. gianluca had always known how to read her, especially in moments like this. she sighed, feeling the weight of her emotions. "yeah... it's weird. it feels like something's missing now that he's not there."
"that's how you know it's something important," gianluca said, offering a small, encouraging smile. "just give it time. if it's meant to be, it'll work out, even with the distance."
yn nodded, taking comfort in his words. "thanks, gian."
