As title suggest, this is a trial attempt.
Might delete it later. Just asking for criticism as this is my first time writing a full-on scifi fanfiction, more over a crossover from two franchise, outside my typical country transfer settings.

Standing on the bridge, gazing at the stars, Rhine lay below-a planet at the edge of our territory in the northwestern galactic sphere. Its surface was littered with pollution, factories, and dying seas. In a daze, I silently observed. Its once verdant landscape was now nothing more than a desolate, dead world.

"Political Commissar Acworth," a voice called out, pulling me from my thoughts. I turned my head to the source.

"Commander Deborane," I acknowledged, meeting the gaze of the light green-skinned officer before me. "How goes the Republic's insistence on inspecting Rhine?" I asked, my voice carrying a hint of disdain.

"Yes, Commissar. They continue barking about the 'inhumane acts' they suspect are happening on the surface," he replied, his tone laced with amusement.

"Inhumane," I chuckled slightly.

I stared at the planet for a few more minutes until one of my men spoke up.

"Political Commissar," he said.

"What is it, Cornel?" I asked, turning to the officer responsible for long-range scanners.

"We detected an incoming warp jump."

"Their arrival?" I inquired.

"Just a few seconds from now," he replied. Almost immediately, a fleet of six triangular ships appeared in my view.

"Isn't their jump dangerously close? Can't they jump to a different location away from such heavy traffic?" I questioned.

Cornel shrugged. "It seems their FTL drive doesn't operate according to our logic. They use something called hyperspace lanes-fixed, imaginary pathways that their ships follow to shorten travel distances. Beyond that, we don't fully understand how it works, Political Commissar."

"Isn't their method of interstellar navigation utter dogshit?" I remarked, glancing at Deborane, who was signaling me. "Communication?"

"Yes," he replied. "There are some interesting people on the other line, according to the traffic control station at Rhine. The Republic cruiser is closing in on them, apparently attempting to strong-arm us with new arrivals, Political Commissar."

"Who are they?" I asked.

"So-called Jedi, Political Commissar."

"Ah, those weirdos who bring swords to gunfights," I said with disinterest. "I'd like to see an entire gun line directed at them and see if their so-called miraculous 'force' can save them," I mused with mockery.

"There will always be fools in the galaxy, Political Commissar," Deborane agreed. "How should we respond to their call?"

"Patch me through," I instructed. Deborane nodded as I stood tall, watching the holographic image come to life, revealing the stern face of the familiar Republic cruiser captain, I forgot the name, accompanied by the Jedi cruiser admiral and their respective fleet officers. The captain's uniform bore the distinct insignia of the Galactic Republic, while the Jedi admiral's robes shimmered slightly in the light of the projection.

"Political Commissar Acworth," the captain began, his tone of irritation and authority, "we meet again. It seems you remain determined to test the boundaries of your intrusion into Republic space."
