In a garden of illusion,
A wanderer looks for a solution.
Lost in fantasy of love,
He's frantic, like a dove.
Stories never meant for him,
Haunted and stung along like a wimp.
Leaving him broken, beyond repair,
He never intended to fall into it's despair.
Some things are better left unwritten,
The haunted past has now rotten. Again, the flowers of love have bloomed.
He opens his window to the rain's gloom.
Author's Note:
"Illusion of Love" examines the haunting and disillusioning journey of a vagabond lost in the labyrinth of romantic fantasies. The poem graphically portrays a heart grappling with the bitter reality of broken dreams and the heavy cost of illusory love. The garden of illusion and flowers of love that bloom in the rain and darkness are metaphors for the juxtaposition of romantic idealism and the reality of emotional suffering. With rich imagery, the poem explores themes of heartbreak, regret, and the difficulty of letting go of a past that haunts and dominates the present.
