A hand is placed on your shoulder, while Pete pushes you forward slightly. Your body stumbles a little forward before you regain your balance. Your eyes are widening in fear of how this situation looks.

He opens the door and you walk in. After closing the (goddamn) door, he sits you down on a sofa.

"(Y/N), this is our chance!"

"Our chance for what, Pete? To be abused by you?!" You exclaim.

"N-no.. I could take the identity of the killer! That's been kidnapping women!" Pete says standing up.

Your eyes widen.

What the heck is Pete thinking? Why the hell would he want to do that?

"If you get 'kidnapped', then the police will automatically think it was the guy the police are looking for! You and me would be free to run away together! They wouldn't suspect it's me, and if they find the man, you wouldn't be with him."

You blink to make sure this is a reality. Where the hell would Pete get this idea?

"Ok, Pete, for one thing: why would I run away with you? And two: that's psychotic, Pete!"

"Don't you love me, (Y/N)? Cause I sure as hell love you!"

You blink back tears and try to remain strong while saying, "I never have loved you- you psyc-"

"Then why do you bother with me when everyone else doesn't!" Pete walks over to you and makes you stand up. "You're the only one that cares, who still likes me! And doesn't think I'm a psycho." He grasps your shoulders, but quickly let's them go. "But.. now you do think I'm one." Pete withers to the couch.

You sigh as you wipe sweat from your forehead. Sitting next to Pete, you look at him and feel sorry for him. Imagine being alone and made fun of, even out of school, and called a psycho. Something which you are guilty of calling him.

"Look, I'm sorry, Pete - but I don't love you... I do love you, but in a friendly way. Just because someone treats you fairly and likes you more than the rest doesn't mean love, it means compassion. Compassion is something you can't teach. It seems hard now, but I'm sure someone out there will fall out of there way for you."

"Thank you, (Y/N). You really think someone's for me?"

You smile and nod.

"Yes, my American Psycho."

"Ok, my American Beauty."
