Jack's POV
Mike and I returned to the house. "Where did your friend go?" Mike says
"He had to take care of something. He'll be back soon," I say
"I see hopefully he'll be fine," Mike says
"James will be fine. Just give him some time," I say
We head inside, and Wren is on the couch. "Hey, where's James?" Wren says
"He had to take care of something," I say
"I'll be in my room if you need me," Mike says, leaving to his room.
"Since Mike isn't here, James told me that Phantom wanted to talk to him about something," I say
"I see. hopefully, James will be back soon." Wren says
"You got any new information?" I say
"Maybe I've heard some rumors that Carl runs an underground market, but there's no evidence of that," Wren says
"Alright, thanks for the information," I say
"If we do find hard evidence of Carl running this, it will prove what Carl said on TV about you and James was fake," Wren says
A few minutes later, we heard a knock at the door. "I'll get that," I say
I open the door, and James is there. "Hey, I'm back," James says
"Dude, what happened?" I say
James comes inside. "A lot has happened," James says
"James, you're back. How are you?" Wren says
"Just great," James says
"Anyway, what did Phantom talk to you about?" I say
"He fixed my shifting problem, and he gave me some information about Carl," James says
"What kind of information?" I say
"Phantom was vague about it, but he told me to find someone named Kyle Nixon," James says
"You know where to find him?" I say
"No, it's more like he finds you," James says
"That's not creepy at all," I say
"Kyle Nixon, I heard that name before" Wren says
"You have any information on how to find him?" James says
"I can send him a message to come meet you guys," Wren says
"How do you know him?" James says
"That's classified. Kyle told me not to tell anyone how I met him," Wren says
"Is everything you do classified?" James says
"I do a lot of things. If people found out about the things I do, it could lead to a lot of trouble," Wren says
"What do you mean by that?" I say
"I'll have Kyle explain it. He should be here soon," Wren says
A few minutes later, we heard a knock on the door. "I'm assuming that's Kyle," I say
"Yeah, I'll get it, and let me do the talking," Wren says, going to the door.
"You think Kyle has information on Carl?" I say
"I trust Phantom. He's helped me with a lot of things, and we don't have any other options to find dirt on Carl," James says
Wren comes in with Kyle, and he looks the same age as us, and he's wearing a skull bandana on his face. "So these are the two you wanted me to meet," Kyle says
"Yeah, this is James and Jack," Wren says
"So you're the shapeshifter I've heard so much about," Kyle says
"Really, how did you hear about me?" James says
"You've done a lot of things to draw attention. I'm surprised you, the government hasn't gotten you yet," Kyle says
"Anyways, down to business. Phantom told James that you have some information about Carl." I say
"How do you know him?" Kyle says
"He's my brother," James says
"You're joking, right?" Kyle says
"It's true he told me himself," I say
"Alright, well, I don't have any information on Carl right now, but I know where we could get some," Kyle says
"Lead the way," James says
"Can I go with you?" Wren says
"No, where we're going is perilous. I can't risk you getting hurt," Kyle says, his voice tinged with concern.
"I understand. Stay safe," Wren says, leaving the room.
We leave the house. "How did you get to know Wren?" I say
"He didn't tell you?" Kyle says
"No, he told us it was classified," I say
"No, we met each other by pure chance, and we became friends," Kyle says
"So where are we heading?" James says
"There's this underground market where we might be able to find information about Carl," Kyle says
"So what's the market like?" I say
"They have this fight club where they bring in a random person every hour. I would stay far away from there," Kyle says
"Good to know. Thanks for the tip," I say
We go into an alleyway, and Kyle knocks on the door, and the on panel opens. "Skull, good to see you again. Come on in."
The door opens, and we follow Kyle inside. "keep a low profile," Kyle says
We head down the stairs, and when we reach the bottom, we see a myriad of stands selling a variety of items. "Wow, this place is fascinating," I say, my eyes darting around in wonder.
"Yeah, it is now. Let's find information on Carl and get out of here," Kyle says
