"What did you want to talk to us about?" I say
"I thought about it. Maybe we should tell Mike everything," Wren says
"Tell me what?" Mike says
"Jack, bring Tommy in here. It'll make things easier," Wren says
"I'll get him," I say, going outside.
I see Tommy peek over the roof. "Is it safe to come in?" Tommy says
"Yeah, we're going to tell Mike everything," I say
"Alright then, I'll be down in a second," Tommy says, coming down from the roof.
We head inside, and as soon as Mike sees Tommy, he runs up to him. "Oh my god, Mothman is real," Mike says, his voice trembling with shock.
"Uh, not quite," Tommy says
"You can speak. That is so cool," Mike says
"Look, we have a lot to explain to you guys, so it's going to be a while," I say
Time skip after they explain everything.
"Woah, so every supernatural creature I've seen in books is real?" Mike says, his eyes wide with disbelief.
"Yeah, pretty much," James says
Mike faints. "Oh crap, that's bad," I say
"He'll be fine. He's probably in shock," Wren says
"I'll go put him in his bed," Tommy says, picking up Mike, and he goes to his room.
"Now we need to talk about what happened earlier, Jack. You took Mike with you and were close to the dark dragon. You could've gotten him hurt or worse," Wren says
"I'm sorry I didn't know," I say
"You two take a walk. I need to make sure Mike is alright," Wren says, going to Mike's room.
James and I leave the house. "You wanted to tell me something earlier. What was it?" James says
"Well, the dark dragon spoke to me personally," I say
"What are you for real?" James says
"I'm serious. He told me that Carl forced him into this." I say
"That makes no sense. How is that possible?" James says
"I don't know. I think it could be a trick," I say
"Yeah, probably Carl would do anything to make us have our guard down," James says
"What about that necklace? Maybe that has something to do with all this," I say
"Oh yeah, I forgot about that. Has Phantom told you anything yet?" James says
"No, not yet. Hopefully, he'll get back to us soon," I say
As we're walking, Phantom appears in front of us. "I found out what the necklace is for," Phantom says
"Dude, stop doing that, please," I say
"What did you find out," James says
"It's how Carl was controlling the dark dragon," Phantom says
"So that's how it spoke to me," I say
"What do you mean by that?" Phantom says
"Carl had me very close to death, then he lost control, and the actual drak dragon showed up and spoke to me saying that Carl was forcing him to do this," I say
"Interesting here. I'll give this back to you," Phantom says, handing me the necklace.
"How are things back home?" James says
"It's fine, brother. Nothing has happened yet," Phantom says
"Thanks for the information. It helps," James says
"No problem, brother, I'll see you guys later," Phantom says, disappearing into a portal.
"You think Wren is still mad at us?" James says
"I don't know. He usually doesn't hold against anyone for too long," I say
"Should we head back?" James says
"Yeah, that's a good idea," I say
We start heading back home. When we return, we notice the door is open. "something isn't right. We proceed with caution," James says
As we get closer, I sense a few people inside. "there are people inside; I'm not sure if they're dangerous. Let's be careful," I say
We head inside, and the door slams shut behind us when we do. "What is going on?" James says
As we make our way to Mike's room, a chilling sight greets us. Carl is there, holding Mike, Wren, and Tommy. "Ah, come to join the show?" He sneers, his voice dripping with malice.
"What the hell, how did you find us?" I say
"It was easy. I followed you guys in secret," Carl says
"You bastard, you won't get away with this," I say, rushing toward Carl. He grabs me and pins me to the ground.
"Jack, no," James says
"I'll let your friends go if you willingly go with me," Carl says, his tone brooking no argument, the weight of his words hanging heavily in the air.
"Dude, don't do it," I say
"Whatever he wants, don't do it," Wren says
"Fine, I'll go. Just let my friends go," James says
Carl lets us go. "good choice," Carl says, grabbing James and leaving the room.
"No, James, why did he do that?" I say
"We'll get James back, I promise," Tommy says
"I need to get some rest," I say
"I'll start trying to find information on where James is," Wren says
I head into Wren's room and fall asleep on one of his beds.
