(A/n): This is just a short chapter I've written to expand on the story a little bit without having to dedicate a lot of time to writing a new chapter, and given my classes have just started time is something I'm going to have very little of in the coming days.

I say short because that's what I intended but it ended up being 3863 words instead of the usual 5000 - 6000 words, anyway I hope you all enjoy.

Angela's POV

Scrolling through the seemingly endless mountain of paperwork on my deck I let out an exhausted sigh as I've been working all day since this morning yet I don't seem to be any less busy even though it was already late at night, on top of balancing all the regular paperwork that comes with running Lobotomy Corporation, handling requests from the Sephira and sending out Workers Comp to the families of agents and Clerks who die on duty (Which is all the time) my workload has practically doubled thanks to this massive portal opening in the middle of the street, and even with most of the Sephira assisting me there is simply no end to the work.

Where do I even start with this? well first off there's the issue of allocating funds towards establishing a base in this new world that it's locals refer to as Terra, currently the agents that we have stationed in Terra are currently residing in the Inn within the town as reported by Simmons Drake when he and Nathan arrived here earlier today, and while this has worked so far we will need a more permanent base of operations within the other world, but actually going about and establishing a new base is easier said than done.

Its of the upmost importance that we create an efficient base within Terra that would serve not only to house any agents or personnel deployed in the other but act as a fortress protecting the portal in case any Monsters tried to attack and as Elder Kane mentioned during the brief time he spent here Monsters come in all different types, this is another way we can liken them to the abnormalities which all have their own unique abilities and if account the fact that these monsters most certainly outnumber the abnormalities that we have in containment then this base needs to be ready for anything.

However there is an issue that comes with investing a lot of money and time into this project, and that's the fact that we don't know how long this portal is even going to be here, its stable for now but we don't know how long it will stay that way whether it be for a month a year or maybe forever...or until next week in which case we'd need to get the agents inside out of there immediately, this portal falls within the line of what we'd consider an abnormality and yet at the same time we've struggled to learn anything from it, perhaps we need to change our thinking and stop viewing this portal as if it's just another abnormality...hmm how else can I say this? the portal even though it behaves as something we'd classify an abnormality at the same time isn't one.

The only way we could truly figure this out is by asking the one responsible for creating this portal in the first place, that's another question that's been sitting in the back of my mind, who or what created this portal in the first place, why to our world and why now, the most likely option I can think of has to do with the war between the humans and the Monsters but until we can learn more its nothing but conjecture.

But now I'm starting to get off topic, the second issue we face with establishing a foothold in this new frontier is Manpower, though we have no shortage of personnel especially when it comes to Clerks competent and skilled individuals are hard to come by, and if we sent too many of them over to Terra we run the risk of leaving ourselves vulnerable to a massive breach here in our facility, these abnormalities aren't going to simply stop attempting to break out just because we're focused on other matters at hand, we could keep the strong Aleph and WAW agents here at the Corporation for when any Alephs try to break out but the threat of the monsters also can't be ignored, if their strength can be compared to abnormalities then I am fairly certain there are those with powers and strength comparable to if not more than an Aleph ranked abnormality...and if we only had a handful of low ranking agents and clerks around when one of them shows up then we'd be in real trouble...but then this goes right back to the first problem where we have no idea how long the portal will remain stable and I'd prefer not to have half our staff stranded in another world.
