, I took the girls to school. They were so excited to go to their private school. The I came home and played on MySpace. Gary had one. God, he looked like Johnny Depp. It was a webcam picture of him in his den, saying, "Working hard for my family." His fraternity brothers wrote, "Lookin' good, Gar." I watched Adrianne Curry. She was my new hero. I searched old high school friends. Chris Elbert was a big graphic artist working in LA. He had accounts with all the hippest and hottest bands. Susan Lawrence was a writer. It seemed I was being left in the back of the line, going in and serving. I watched "My Fair Brady" all morning and afternoon. Oh to have the life like that. I,on red getting my shift done and going home. Now it was 5-11 and those hours were going to drag. Pete did at 7-5 and he was hating it like a motherfucker.I picked up the girls and then we drove to the restaurant. The girls waited at the picnic table in the back and it was a prefect fall afternoon. The temperatures were warm with a tinge of what was to come. The girls did their hind work and laughed. Chloe Leibrich made them mock tails. Pete was incensed as he drove them home. "How could they? I mean they fuck us, my first paycheck is really bad. Like half of what it was before." He went into the bar when Cassie was in the bathroom. In the end, this would fuck him. Reluctantly, Christine put o her apron and did the slow night service. She Ahmed it. "Sell the sizzle. Smile," Chloe would say. "This isn't a life sentence. This is a new opportunity ! Think of it. Tell your stories!" I wanted to tell her to fuck off. I wanted to say, "Do you feel bad for my girls? You fixed them pretty fancy mocktails and made over them. What are you going to do when I have to tell them they will not be going to Dungiven." This felt like a life sentence and every table was painfully slow and being entertaining was hard. Katrin did it with ease. This was going to suck.
"Closing sucks," i told myself. Tawni said "In time, you'll fit right in and the money is great." Yes, I made $150. I felt like a shire of sorts though. However, the time crawled and when she got home, the girls were asleep. I relished having my own car. Life was going to change and change abruptly. I was going to have to tell him some time. Pete would be pleased as punch at first.... However.... "Gar was a stud." I drove home, got on MySpace and I looked at his page. I went to sleep.
"How was it, babe?"
"Sucked."
"Are you going tell me about your positive pregnancy test?"
"Uh. I wanted to discuss it."
"I knew you were weeks ago. Maybe after the baby, you could look for another job. I think it is a good thing,"I relaxed a little, but a year from now.... However, he would have an event that was really going to change or the family.
I was off until Thursday. We weew off together the following day. It was going to be a long day.
