A fresh day has come, and I'm relieved that yesterday's introduction went smoothly. Testarossa has departed for Dwargon to participate in political discussions, leaving me in my office to sift through the stack of documents awaiting my attention. There are quite a few to face, but nothing that I can't handle. Meanwhile, Shizue-sama, along with the children and Shuna, has gone to the school to complete the transfer process.
I've heard that Shizue-Sama is also considering applying for a teaching job there.
Time flows relentlessly, never stopping for anyone, yet the days spent with Veldora and the children are anything but dull. Ever since Veldora and Ramiris teamed up with the kids, the mix of challenges and joy has only increased.
Watching the children grow attached to Veldora makes all the chaos he brings seem useful, though I would never admit that to him directly, as it would only increase his ego further.
The image of his mischief is still vivid in my mind. It took considerable effort to instill some discipline in him, but now that he has grown a bit, I can see that my efforts were not in vain.
I've thought about appointing him as a teacher, but I quickly dismissed that idea due to his unpredictable nature and immense power.
To be honest, there aren't many who could successfully teach the kids besides Shuna and me. Reflecting on it, I understand that most of Tempest's residents lack formal education. It seems I'll need to empower them with a motivational speech to encourage their growth.
Speaking of speech, I can't help but think of King Gazel. I wonder when he plans to pay me a visit. Given Tempest's rapid growth, it seems like the right time for him to arrive. However, there's no need to dwell on that now. I should focus on my papers instead.
"Rimuru-sama, would you like some tea?"
"Yes, please. Thank you, Diablo."
I value his assistance in reviewing the documents; without him, I would be much slower in completing this paperwork.
...
Time flew by, and in what felt like an instant, two years had slipped away like a gentle breeze, marked by Tempest's astonishingly rapid growth. The pace of growth was so remarkable that it took even me off guard. Witnessing how quickly things were advancing was a satisfactory feeling.
Tempest's progress continues to unfold seamlessly, which is a huge relief for me. Even in Ingrassia, whispers about Tempest and its innovative goods have reached my ears. I made a trip there using my teleportation skills to gauge how the common folk viewed Tempest, all while I still needed to persuade our finance minister to join us.
Numerous stories and rumors have been circulating in Ingrassia and across other western nations, highlighting the diverse foods, medicines, and especially the culture surrounding the Demon Lord Rimuru.
My subordinates have been performing exceptionally well, ensuring that everything goes as smoothly as can be.
To give you a quick recap of the past two years, shortly after Testarossa's departure, Gazel paid us a visit a week later, leading to the establishment of a political and military alliance.
"So, King Gazel, what are your plans for the future?"
While enjoying a cup of tea that Shuna had freshly brewed for us, I casually asked. The weather was beautiful, with clear skies and a warm sun, complemented by a gentle, chilly breeze—an ideal setting for tea with friends.
"I don't have a fixed direction at the moment, but improving relations with Tempest is definitely on my agenda."
He replied in a calm and relaxed way, showing no concern for the lack of a concrete plan for his country's future. It seemed that all his previous plans had been overthrown by the rise of Tempest and the arrival of a new Demon Lord next door.
