The first week had finally come to an end. The late Friday afternoon sun draped the Quidditch pitch in a warm, golden hue. Danielle and Haerin stood on the sidelines, the air buzzing with excitement as students gathered for the Quidditch team tryouts.

Hanni, a second-year, had invited Haerin along, and Haerin, in turn, had brought Danielle. The Hufflepuff tryouts had just finished, with Hanni's team emerging victorious. As the cheers died down, it was time for the flying tryouts-those who performed well would earn a spot on the tryout teams for a match.

Haerin's fingers fiddled nervously with her scarf. Her eyes flickered between the players on the field and Danielle, who seemed far more at ease.

"I don't think I'll be riding a broom for a while," Haerin mumbled, her voice barely above a whisper. memory of her last disastrous attempt at riding a broom was still too fresh.
"After what happened last time... I'm just not made for flying."

Danielle chuckled, her voice light and teasing as she nudged Haerin's arm. "Come on, scaredy cat~ Hanni unnie just landed. Let's go say hi."

Reluctantly, Haerin allowed herself to be led across the field, where Hanni was already waiting, her broom slung casually over her shoulder. "Alright, who wants to try flying?" Hanni asked, her grin as wide as ever as she held out her broom.

Danielle hesitated, her gaze shifting to the other students zooming around the pitch. But then, something sparked in her eyes-maybe a mix of nerves and excitement. "I'm down," she said, her words coming out braver than she felt.

Hanni's eyes flicked over to Haerin. "And you, Haerin?"

Haerin shook her head firmly, stepping back. "Not today. I'm sitting this one out."

Hanni raised an eyebrow but didn't push. Instead, she turned back to Danielle with a grin. "You've got the spark, Danielle. You should definitely try."

Danielle took a deep breath, nodding more to herself than anyone else.

When it was finally Danielle's turn, she mounted the broom, her heart pounding against her ribs. The ground felt a million miles away as she kicked off, the broom wobbling beneath her. But then, something clicked. The adrenaline coursed through her veins, and before she knew it, she was flying-really flying.

A scream tore from her lips, but it was one of exhilaration, not fear. The wind whipped through her hair, and her laughter echoed across the pitch as she soared higher, her movements becoming smoother with each passing second. "This is awesome! Aaaahhh!" Her voice rang out, a mix of joy and disbelief. "I didn't know flying could feel like this!"

Haerin stood rooted to the spot, her mouth slightly agape as she watched Danielle zoom past with a wide grin. "Wow, she's a natural," she muttered,

"She's like a flying sunflower," she added with a laugh bubbling up despite herself.

Danielle, still high on adrenaline, looped around the pitch, barely able to contain her excitement. "I never thought I'd be good at this, but it's incredible!" she shouted, her words tumbling out in a rush.

Haerin's eyes widened as Danielle nearly collided with the goalpost. "And- she's not stopping," she trailed off.

Hanni, who had been watching proudly, suddenly went pale. "Wait I thought... she's never flown before?! Professor McGonagall is going to kill me!"

When Danielle finally landed, she did so with a bit of a clumsy stumble, as Haerin and Hanni were about to ask a series of questions to see if she was okay. But, Danielle stood up as if she'd been doing it for years, giving a thumbs up.
