────────── YAMATO HAD SUDDENLY BECOME HER GUARD DOG AT EVERY CORNER THEY WALKED, AND DEMANDED THAT SHE NO LONGER GO AND DO STUFF ON HER OWN.

Others saw him as a protective older brother, just doing his duty to protect his sister that could get kidnapped due to his friend's shenanigans and earning enemies everywhere. Girls at school began to fantasise with the idea of him being an overprotective boyfriend, and all Yoru could do was just pray solemnly for them.

In reality, he was like that, but he wasn't an overprotective guy that followed her all the time. Usually, he would let her go off and do whatever she liked. She didn't have to be his responsibility all the time and he had given her fighting tips as well, and he even called himself a feminist in believing that girls like his sister have that kind of strong independence.

He wasn't going back on it just because he was worried, he was doing it in hopes of finding something better: the guy that Yoru decided not to name nor mention ever again since a few days ago. He was very invested in wanting to meet the guy that saved his sister and decided to take her on a little date. He wasn't interested before but now? Yamato was all in.

He looked out closely, watching Yoru's movements for any twitches of excitement or just anything that would give him a sign.

So far, he had only understood that the guy didn't go to their school (that was only because Yoru had to tell him, otherwise he would be inserting himself in a conversation she was having with a male classmate), which made it a lot harder considering the amount of guys that were in this town. He hadn't realised the population of men was much higher than he knew; then again, there was an all boys high school at the heart of Makochi and any co-ed or just girls high schools were just close by the town, but not inside it.

It made him wonder what Yoru would do in high school without him around, but that was a thought to have when they got to that line.

"You're being embarrassing," murmured Yoru, watching as Yamato peeked his head around the corner to see if anyone was coming that way. Lo and behold, no one was there at all. "It was probably a fluke anyway, I bet I won't be seeing him again,"

"Oh, come on!" Grinned Yamato as he walked first, acting like her bodyguard, which she definitely didn't need by the way. "Don't be that way! If it's in fate's hands then he might as be your soulmate!" His teasing made Yoru want to throw her bag at him, and took her every ounce of restraint not to.

His overprotective silly behaviour was only annoying her more by the second. She was glad he crossed off anyone at school, but that left the whole town to search and she wasn't sure which one she would have preferred. This monstrosity before her or him scaring away any guy at school that dared to approach her.
