────────── HIRAGI WAS NEVER THE TYPE TO HAVE HIS HEAD IN THE CLOUDS.

And yet he did, and the perfect question to ask was: 'Why?'

Why was the head strong Hiragi of all people stuck with his head above the clouds? He almost walked into a pole, and if it weren't for the cute, little, one-year younger junior that followed him around like a puppy then he would have ended up with a big bruise. It really made Sako Kota wonder why his senpai seemed to be in a deep thought, it's not like Hiragi was stupid or anything (even if he was, Sako would still praise him and look up to him), it was just odd to see him be so...spacey.

He was usually very aware of his surroundings, looking around and being cautious not to run into any delinquents or bullies of the sort, and smiling at Sako because he really had nothing to worry about. Today, it was just them walking together. It made him happy then he got to walk with Hiragi, it had been a while since they had last walked with one another and Sako had been meaning to show off his new fighting moves as well! He hoped it would bring them closer, maybe Hiragi could watch him and give him tips!

After all, Hiragi was his saviour, and he couldn't come saving his ass every time he was being beaten up for being a whimp. Sako had taken Hiragi's advice since their first meeting. He learnt to fight back, he couldn't allow anyone to push him around like a toy so easily anymore.

Bronze orbs blinked in confusion. Their walk had all been silence, and frankly it was starting to get just a little overwhelming. "Uh, Hiragi-san, are you okay?" Sako asked him meekly, jumping when he gained his attention.

"Ah———" Realising he had been zoning off, Hiragi looked back at Sako. He didn't mean to make the boy jump with a sudden spin of his head, he had just been thinking...about someone, maybe, the thought of thinking of someone was embarrassing to him. Especially when it was someone he had only recently met, it made him wonder why she seemed to have an effect on him.

Was he that worried for her? That she was in danger of some sort? Or maybe she was a suspicious character? He was never one to judge a book by its cover, and her cover was pretty and kind, thoughtful and bright...but that didn't mean there wasn't any sort of ulterior motive beneath her skin.

As nice as she was, the mention of her overprotective brother had him thinking. Was her brother a bad guy? Or was she genuinely in worry of being embarrassed by her brother? All he could do was wonder, but he shouldn't. She was a simple and short fateful meeting of his past and nothing more; they didn't even exchange emails.

With that in mind, Hiragi nodded at Sako. "Sorry, Sako," he apologised kindly, an assuring graced his features, making the younger boy relax and smile in return. "I didn't mean to zone out. You were saying?"
