Chapter 8

Aunt Cass comes in with some iced tea. "It's lemongrass, our special-tea." She smiles at her own cheesy joke.

Tadashi rolls his eyes at me as I smother a laugh.

"Anything you want in your tea?" asks Cass.

"Just some honey." I respond, taking the glass she hands me.

"Is that why they call you Honey Lemon?" asks Tadashi.

I blush. "Yeah. I used to only drink lemongrass tea with honey, every day. I became known for it in middle school. That, and chemistry."

We sit for a while, talking. It's actually pretty awkward. Especially Cass.

Then Tadashi stands. "I'm sorry, Aunt Cass, but I need to get Honey Lemon home now. You know, school tomorrow and all."

I stand, too. Cass comes up and gives me a hug.

At the bike, Tadashi helps me put on the helmet. "I'm sorry about Aunt Cass. She's a little--"

"It's fine," I say, and kiss him. We're about the same size, with these shoes.

He smiles and climbs on the bike, I follow.

At the curb, I climb off and shake my hair out of my helmet before handing it to Tadashi. He stows it in the bike and gets off.

I stare at him, confused, as he holds out his arm.

"I may as well walk you to your door," he explains.

I take his arm and we walk up the winding stairs until we get to my door.

"Thank you, Tadashi," I say.

He lets go and rubs the back of his neck. "Goodnight, Honey Lemon."

Before I know it, he is kissing me. I relax and put my arms over his shoulders.

Then, by some unspoken cue, we both stop. "Goodnight, Tadashi." I say.

Inside my apartment, I get ready for bed, then collapse on my bed, grinning like some school girl.

Hey look!  My first ever author's note!  Sorry this one is super short and that I haven't updated in a while.  I was at summer camp.
Aren't they so adorable?
*sigh*
Well, next chapter should be up soon.
(*^^*)
