"Ladies! Let's go, come on!" Abby shouts as the girls file into Studio A.

"What's with your shoes?" Abby asks Jill, who's still wearing her shoes even though you're supposed to take them off when entering Studio A.

"I didn't think you'd mind. I'm on my toes," Jill replies.

"This floor is $68,000," Abby states sharply. "Alright, first I wanna talk about last week."

"I must say I'm a little disappointed. We were just outdanced. It's that energy level. You can't have a bunch of slugs out on stage. This weekend, we will be attending Dance Explosion in Secaucus, New Jersey. You're gonna get some heavy hitters there, I'm telling you right now. I'm gonna start with the pyramid." Abby announces, her voice firm and commanding.

"And... first, I have Lacey," Abby says, taking the cover off the pyramid. "Lacey, you didn't have a good energy level in the group dance, and your mother had the audacity to lie to my face in front of your friends' mothers. Tell her to shut her mouth." Abby's words cut through the air.

"Next, Kendall," Abby continues, "I thought you did a nice job. But you're here because your mother is way too needy."

"Abby, that is ridiculous," Jill protests.

"Why isn't she doing a solo? Why isn't she doing a duet? Why doesn't she have a special part?" Abby mocks Jill's voice, exaggerating her frustration.

"And that's needy?" Jill asks, clearly frustrated. "That's inquisitive. Why doesn't she have a solo?"

"You're punishing them for something we did," Fraya states calmly, but with undeniable conviction.

"Bingo! There you go! Moving on," Abby snaps.

"Nia, once again, I need to see energy. I need to see excitement."

"Next we have Brooke. You're back, but is Brooke really back?" Abby asks, clearly skeptical.

"Moving on, Paige. Great job in the tuck. I just need to see you do that throughout all of your dancing," Abby comments, making sure Paige knows there's room for improvement.

"Moving on up the ladder, Maddie. You danced well. I expect more from you," Abby continues, her tone both approving and demanding.

"Chloe, same thing. Great performance on stage, you just need to learn to pick up quicker."

"Virella, you won your duet. You did it on pointe and it was flawless," Abby says, the praise loud and clear, because with Virella Ashford, praise is never in short supply.

"And at the top of the pyramid, Mackenzie," Abby finishes, and the room erupts into claps for Mackenzie's position

"She won in Nutley, New Jersey. She won in Long Island, New York. Do you have another win in you for Secaucus, New Jersey? I don't know," Abby tells Mackenzie, her voice filled with both challenge and expectation.

The room falls silent, the weight of Abby's words hanging in the air.

"We are not going to do a group routine this week," Abby announces, breaking the tension.

"Each and every dancer will be doing a solo. It's every man for himself. It's your chance to shine," she continues, her tone firm and decisive.

Virella raises her hand, her confident yet respectful gesture catching Abby's attention.

"Yes?" Abby asks, clearly a bit surprised.
