The Regal Almara Hotel, Khalisar
December
That same day.....Lisa woke up again, this time tucked neatly under the duvet, which was pulled up to her chest. Jennie must have been the one to reposition her, ensuring she slept comfortably. Glancing at the digital clock, she saw that it was already 12:30 in the afternoon. Sitting up, Lisa noticed how tidy the suite was, a stark contrast to the mess it had been before their nap. Curious and a little anxious, she slipped on her slippers and began searching for Jennie.
First, she checked the living room—no sign of her. Then, the kitchen—empty. A pang of disappointment struck Lisa as she wondered where Jennie could have gone. There was no way Jennie would leave without saying anything, right? She hurried to the master bedroom to grab her phone, but as soon as she entered, Jennie stepped out of the walk-in wardrobe.
For a moment, Lisa was in awe. Princess Jennie looked effortlessly chic in an all-black ensemble, with a fitted long-sleeve top tucked into high-waisted black jeans that perfectly accentuated her slim figure. The simple yet sophisticated look was completed with black boots, adding a touch of elegance to her stride. Her hair cascaded in loose waves, and a small, stylish bag was slung over her shoulder. The sight of Jennie exuding confidence and poise made Lisa's heart skip a beat; she felt a deep admiration and pride for the woman standing before her. Jennie's understated elegance left Lisa utterly mesmerized, reminding her just how captivated she was by everything Jennie did.
"Jennie..." Lisa sighed softly. "I was looking for you."
Jennie smiled warmly, her hands busy fastening a pair of earrings. "I'm so sorry, honey. I'm in a bit of a rush," she said, glancing at herself in the mirror on the dressing table.
"Oh, okay... Where are you going?" Lisa tried to keep the disappointment from her voice, but Jennie noticed the slight change in her girlfriend's expression. Despite Lisa sitting at the edge of the bed, brushing the ends of her hair, the subtle pout of her lips revealed her sulking mood.
After ensuring everything was in place, Jennie turned to face her pouting girlfriend.
"I have an urgent meeting, love, so I have to head back to Eldoria today," she explained, walking toward Lisa.
"Oh" Lisa frowned, the pout on her lips becoming more pronounced. She had been enjoying their time together so much, and now Jennie had to leave. Yes, Lisa had work too, but not as demanding as Jennie's, who even had to work on weekends.
But still, Lisa knew she had to be understanding.
She sighed. "Yeah, you mentioned this morning that you might have to fly back," she murmured.
Jennie cupped Lisa's face in her hands, making her look up. Jennie smiled and playfully pinched both of Lisa's cheeks.
"Baby, ouch!" Lisa protested.
Jennie laughed. "I couldn't help it—you're too cute." She leaned down to kiss Lisa on the forehead.
"So, we're back to FaceTiming and texting," Lisa said, wrapping her arms around Jennie's small waist and resting her head against Jennie's stomach.
"Oh, so that's what you're sad about," Jennie chuckled. She took Lisa's hands in hers and sat beside her on the bed, holding them tightly and gazing at Lisa with so much love.
"How about this..." Jennie said, letting go of Lisa's hands to remove a diamond ring from her finger. "With this ring, I promise you that after I've taken care of everything at the office, we can spend Christmas together." Jennie smiled widely, slipping the ring onto Lisa's finger. Lisa was a bit taken aback by the gesture but managed to keep her composure.
"But I don't celebrate Christmas," Lisa pointed out.
"I know," Jennie replied with a grin. "But you'll get to celebrate it with me." Her smile grew even wider, and Lisa realized how much Jennie valued traditions like Christmas. Most of her Christian friends didn't even bother with the holiday.
"But aren't you supposed to celebrate with your parents?" Lisa asked, curious.
"Well, every year for Christmas, my parents go overseas to celebrate since it's also their anniversary," Jennie explained.
"Aww, that's so sad," Lisa cooed. "If that's the case, I agree to spend Christmas with you. But it's okay—you can keep the ring," she said, trying to hand the ring back to Jennie.
"Nope, you're keeping it," Jennie insisted, sliding the ring onto Lisa's right hand.
Before Lisa could say anything, Jennie grabbed the nape of her neck and pulled her into a kiss. At first, Lisa wanted to protest, but Jennie's tongue slipped into her mouth, causing Lisa to moan softly. Jennie smiled, tugging at Lisa's hair as she deepened the kiss. Lisa couldn't help but surrender, letting Jennie's lips command her actions.
When they finally pulled apart, they rested their foreheads against each other, both trying to catch their breath.
Jennie smiled tenderly. "I can't bear leaving you alone, which is why I made this promise. The ring on your finger is my promise to come back to your arms again," she whispered, her voice so soft and tender it made Lisa's stomach flutter. "So, please accept it, okay?"
"Okay, my love, I'll accept it," Lisa agreed, a soft smile on her lips.
"But..." Lisa let the word hang in the air for a moment, a teasing glint in her eyes.
"What?" Jennie asked, growing impatient.
"If you break your promise, I'll sell it," Lisa teased, causing Jennie to burst into laughter. Though they both knew Jennie would never break her promise, the joke still lightened the
Mood.
