The forest was silent, the anticipation hanging thick in the air as Aoi Todo and I exchanged a nod. Our rivalry had been fierce, but the sudden appearance of Mahito, Hanami, and a swarm of cursed spirits demanded a temporary truce. We had to work together now, not against each other.

I could feel my cursed energy simmering beneath my skin, ready to explode at any moment. The oppressive aura of the curses pressed down on us, their dark forms materializing from the shadows like living nightmares. The atmosphere was tense, every breath laced with the metallic taste of danger. The ground beneath us seemed to pulse with cursed energy, as if the very earth itself was corrupted by their presence.

"Stay sharp, everyone," I called out, my voice steady but urgent. "These aren't just any curses—they're special grades. They won't go down easily."

Yuji, Megumi, and Nobara formed a loose circle around us, each preparing their own techniques. I could see the determination in their eyes, a shared understanding that this battle was unlike any they had faced before.

Mahito stepped forward, his twisted grin spreading across his face as his eyes locked onto mine. "Ah, the younger Gojo," he taunted, his voice smooth and mocking. "I've heard so much about you. Let's see if you're as fun to break as your brother."

I smirked, refusing to be intimidated. "You'll find out soon enough," I shot back, gathering my cursed energy into my palms. "But don't be surprised if you're the one who breaks first."

Without warning, Hanami charged, her monstrous form moving with unnatural speed as her wooden tendrils lashed out toward us. I leaped into action, flipping backward and unleashing a wave of cursed energy with a flick of my wrist. "Ethereal Void Manipulation!" I shouted, sending a blast of dark energy spiralling toward her.

The attack connected, shattering several of her tendrils and forcing her to recoil. Aoi was right beside me, his massive fist slamming into the ground with a deafening crash. "Boogie Woogie!" he yelled, clapping his hands and swapping places with Hanami, delivering a powerful kick to her side.

Mahito laughed, a sickening sound that sent chills down my spine. "Let's dance, then," he said, morphing his body grotesquely as he lunged forward. His hand transformed into a blade, slashing through the air toward Aoi.

"Boogie Woogie!" Aoi clapped his hands again, switching places with a tree branch just as Mahito's blade sliced through where he had been standing. Mahito snarled in frustration, but his grin never wavered.

I saw an opening. "Infinite Collapse!" I shouted, my hands forming a series of complex signs. The space around Mahito warped, a gravitational force pulling him toward a singular point. He struggled, his form contorting as he tried to resist the pull.

But Mahito was slippery. With a sickening twist, he shifted his body again, slipping free from the gravitational pull and reforming a few feet away. "Nice try," he sneered. "But you'll have to do better than that."

A shriek pierced the air as another cursed spirit lunged at Yuji. He dodged nimbly, countering with a powerful punch that sent the spirit sprawling. "These things just keep coming!" he shouted, his eyes wide with determination. "We need to finish this fast!"

Megumi summoned his Shikigami, the black-and-white wolves charging forward to tear through a swarm of lower-grade curses. "Focus on the special grades!" he called out. "I'll handle the rest!"

I nodded, my attention returning to Mahito. His shifting form was a nightmare to deal with, but I wasn't about to let him win. "Time for a new trick," I muttered under my breath, gathering more cursed energy.

"Dark Blue: Negative Flux!" I yelled, thrusting my hand forward. A dark sphere of compressed cursed energy shot out, swirling violently as it accelerated toward Mahito. The attack struck him head-on, the negative energy tearing at his body, distorting his form as he struggled to maintain his shape.

"Got you!" I smirked, feeling a surge of satisfaction. But my victory was short-lived as Mahito reformed, his body warping back into shape with an unsettling crackle.

"Damn, he's tough," I muttered, feeling a bead of sweat trickle down my forehead. "Aoi, we've got to take him down together!"

Aoi nodded, his expression serious. "Right. I've got your back, Y/N." He clapped his hands again, swapping positions with me to dodge another attack from Hanami. "Let's hit them hard!"

We launched a coordinated assault, Aoi using Boogie Woogie to disorient Mahito and Hanami while I unleashed a barrage of cursed energy blasts. "Void Shackles!" I shouted, binding Hanami in place with tendrils of dark energy.

Aoi took the opening, slamming his fist into Hanami's midsection with enough force to crack her bark-like skin. She let out a roar of pain, her tendrils flailing wildly as she struggled to break free. I poured more energy into the shackles, tightening them around her limbs.

"Yuji, now!" I shouted, giving him the cue.

Yuji nodded, his eyes blazing with determination. "Black Flash!" he roared, his fist glowing with intense cursed energy as he struck Mahito square in the chest. The impact created a shockwave that sent Mahito flying back, crashing through several trees.

For a moment, the battlefield was silent, the air thick with dust and the aftermath of our combined attacks. I could hear my heartbeat pounding in my ears, my breath coming in short gasps. We had landed some solid hits, but I knew the fight was far from over.

Mahito slowly got to his feet, his grin somehow even wider. "Impressive," he said, brushing himself off. "I didn't think you'd put up this much of a fight. But playtime's over."

Suddenly, he surged forward with blinding speed, his hand morphing into a monstrous claw aimed straight at me. I barely had time to react, raising my hand to block the attack with my Infinity. The claw stopped inches from my face, but the force of it sent me skidding back.

"Aoi!" I called out, struggling to maintain my footing. "We need to end this, now!"

Aoi nodded, his face set in determination. "Right. One more time, Y/N. Together!"

I focused all my cursed energy, the air around me crackling with power. "Ethereal Void Manipulation: Shadow Reaver!" I shouted, releasing a concentrated beam of cursed energy that split the ground as it tore toward Mahito.

At the same time, Aoi clapped his hands again, swapping places with Mahito just as my attack struck. The beam hit Hanami instead, catching her off guard and blasting her backward, shattering her cursed body into pieces.

Mahito's eyes widened in shock, realizing he was now standing in the path of Aoi's powerful punch. "Boogie Woogie!" Aoi shouted again, landing a direct hit on Mahito's side. The cursed spirit crumpled, coughing up a spray of black blood.

"We got him!" Yuji cheered, pumping his fist in the air.

But Mahito wasn't done yet. With a twisted grin, he pulled himself back up, his body shifting and warping grotesquely. "You think you can defeat me so easily?" he taunted, his voice distorted. "I'm just getting started."

I felt a surge of frustration, my cursed energy flaring up around me. "Stay down, damn it!" I yelled, launching another blast of energy toward him.

But before the attack could connect, a sudden ripple of cursed energy swept through the area. A blinding light erupted from the centre of the forest, forcing us all to shield our eyes.

When the light faded, I saw the familiar figure of Gojo Satoru standing there, his usual carefree smile replaced with a serious expression. "That's enough," he said, his voice calm but commanding. "You've done well, but I'll take it from here."

Mahito hissed, his form flickering as he began to retreat. "This isn't over, Gojo!" he snarled before vanishing into the shadows.

Hanami, too, disappeared, leaving behind only the wreckage of our battle. The forest was silent once more, the air thick with tension and the smell of burnt wood.

I let out a breath I hadn't realized I was holding, my body trembling with exhaustion. We had done it. We had held our ground and fought back against some of the strongest curses we'd ever faced.

As the adrenaline began to fade, I turned to Aoi, who was panting heavily but grinning like a maniac. "Not bad, Y/N," he said, clapping me on the back. "Not bad at all."

I smiled, feeling a rush of camaraderie. "Yeah, not bad yourself," I replied, offering my hand. "Friends?"

He took it, his grin widening. "Friends."
