Devin was over the moon, starting quarterback on a varsity team as a freshman was crazy! Sure he was leagues better than anyone else on the JV and Varsity teams but he still didn't expect Coach Dean to make him the starter over both the senior QBs on the team. He was on his way to a practice for only the top players right now, to run some drills the coach had designed for his elite players. Seeing the coach taking out the equipment from the shed he waved. "Go on and get changed" the coach shouted and Devin headed to the locker room. He was half way changed when he heard the door open and close. Assuming it was the other guys he didn't think anything of it, until he was pushed down and felt hands holding him down.

After it was over Devin felt numb. He had to push his bike home, walking hurt but riding was unbearable. He felt like the world was spinning too fast and he wanted to get off. He knew he would never start a game of football, how could he even concentrate on practice? He had been tricked and used. No one even said anything to him afterwards, they just threw a towel on him and left. He went to coach crying and told him what happened, but he just laughed. "Well at least they gave you a towel to clean up" he snorted "they didn't have to, I just told them to toughen you up so you know nothing worse can happen to you on the field." On that note he was right, nothing worse could ever happen to him. Later that night, after a shower and more crying, he started planning.
