Chapter four
Comfort of the serpents
Location: Driftmark but eventually dragonstone

Aemma sat on a chair in the hall nine letting the maester stitch her cut that Aemond caused. Aemma tried her best not to cry too much or move too much due to the fear of causing more pain if she does.

All Aemma want is her mother's comfort. Their mother's sweet words that will keep her calm but except she is nowhere to be found and so is their father.

Aemma's dark eyes filled with tears once more, to the thought of her parent's absence when her and her brothers needs them the most.

"Sit still for a moment, princess. I am also done" the maester said with a soothing voice trying to calm the nervous girl. Aemma gripped her knees tighter and only muttered a quiet 'Okay'.

Her brothers was just besides her holding one another whilst King Viserys spoke angrily. Who wouldn't after seeing the scene in front of him?

His son lost an eye, his granddaughter now have a scar on her face, his nieces scared and crying with bruises and blood on their faces, his grandsons having a broken nose and a bleeding head.

"How can you allow such thing happen?" King Viserys asked his kings guard in a voice of disbelief of exhaustion of this endless family fights but this time it is worser. "I want answers."

"The princes was supposed to he abed, my king" the guard replied "who had the watch?" Viserys raised a question once more.

"The young prince was attacked by his own cousin." Ser Criston said except of answering the question the king commanded. "You swore oaths to protect and defend my blood!" King Viserys yelled at the two knights besides him.

"I am sorry, your grace. The
kingsguard has never had to defend princes from princes" Criston said with smugness in his low voice as if happy that this had happened "That is no answer!" King Viserys yelled at Criston's face.

"It will heal, will it not, maester?" Alicent asked the Maester whose only finished sewing Aemond's lost eye the mother desperately cries in. All eyes turned the figures standing on the fireplaces.

"The flesh will heal... but the eye is lost, your grace" the maester said making Alicent stand up and Viserys only sighed at this.

Viserys turned to other side of the hall to Aemma whom just finished getting tended by the maester in front of her "what of Aemma?" He asked making Alicent almost chuckle in disbelief.
