"Sir, all of the file that you have given to me was all done. Your meetings with the investors this afternoon including Mr. Saavedra is all settled." my secretary told me when I arrived at the company and directly went to my office.
"What time will the meeting get started?" I asked. I was walking towards my desk whileI am speaking to him.
"This 2 pm, sir."
"Okay. Remind me later if ever I forgot." sagot ko and he just nod and left the room.
This is stressing me out. I am having a bad day because I was not able to sleep last night because that girls face always shown in my dream. Every time I close my eyes, her face always showed up. I don't know why I see her face every time.
Habang binubuklat ko ang mga papeles na nasa mesa ko ay nakatanggap ako ng tawag mula sa baba ng company na meron daw gustong bumisita sa akin. The information officer drop the name and she said it's Chloe so I tell her to let her in.
Minutes pass, Chloe arrived at my office. She knocked first before she came in.
"Hi, Mr. Montemayor. I'm here as my father's representative because he can't make to come here. I will be the one who will attend the investors meeting." she said while directly looking at me.
I don't wanna make a face so I just keep my thoughts in my mind.
Is she genuinely here for the meeting, or could she be here for another reason? Is she even able to attend the meeting? I'm unsure, but she seems significantly younger than all the other investors in my company.
I just didn't talk anymore and shut my mouth and let her sit down and I went back working my papers. I didn't realize that the time flies really fast and when Brent came in, saka pa ako nagmamadaling ayusin ang mga papel ko sa mesa at kinuha ang aking tuxedo at sabay na kaming tatlong lumabas ng opisina.
We went straight to the conference room, and when we entered, all the investors were already present, we were the only ones missing. I sat at the very end, which is where my seat is supposed to be. The meeting began, and my secretary presented an overview of everything happening in the company, including the new project we plan to implement.
"However, we have a problem, the location we intended to use for our new project is unavailable. The owner refuses to sell it because it holds significant personal value to him. We don't have any other choice than to make the payment even higher. We have no other place to put our building because all the locations are already occupied. Additionally, if we build our new project there, it will be more effective, especially since many people live in that area." saad ni Brent as he proceeded to talked about our new project.
"But, if we increase the payment for the place, we'll lose a huge money. We are not sure if that place is profitable." saad ni Chloe kaya nabaling sa kanya ang atensiyon ng lahat, pati narin ako. "I mean, that's my opinion." she added.
"I agree with her. If we increase the payment, we might lose a huge money because for sure, the owner would not let if the increase of the money doesn't reach the amount he wanted. Also, if we force to build a building in that area, are we really sure that we will make a huge profit to that?" I added. Everyone agrees in my opinion.
"Well, what do you think will be the right solution if we don't increase the amount of money to pay the area?" Brent asks and turns to me and to the other people who is here.
"What if we negotiate with the owner of the area or the building? It is a good choice after all. We will just going to give him a five percent of our profit. Because if you think about it, we will be doing everything—renovating the building or the space, and not only that, we will also need new equipment to put inside the building. The owner will also benefit significantly because he won't have to do anything else, he will simply benefit as if we are just renting the place. What do you think?" Chloe said. Everyone agrees with her opinion. Even I, I found it very good. She thinks a right decision for that. She also has a point.
"What do you think, Mr. CEO?" nagising ako sa aking diwa ng tawagin ako ni Brent.
"I also agree with her opinion. It is a good decision to make. We'll take that." saad ko. "Brent, go to that place and talk to the owner. Tell him whatever decision we've made. Convince him, because he will really benefit a lot from this new project as well. Just make sure that you can persuade him." I said and he nodded. "Meeting dismissed." I said and ended the meeting. I walk outside and Chloe and Brent followed me. We went to my office and when I reach my chair I immediately rest my body and close my eyes.
As always, I saw that girl's face again. Why can't I forget about her face. Why can't take a rest even for a while? Why does she always pop into my mind when I close my eyes.
"Are you okay, Mr. Montemayor?" I came back to my senses when Chloe called me.
"I'm fine. By the way, don't call me Mr. Montemayor anymore, just call me CJ." I said and she nodded.
"By the way, I have nothing else to do here anymore, I got to go. Thank you for this day, anyway. I have many things to do in my dad's company too. Bye." as she said her goodbye, I let Brent sent Chloe to the parking area para narin maihatid niya ito sa gusto nitong patunguhan. Nang tuluyan ng makaalis ay kahit naisin ko mang ipikit ang aking mata ay hindi ko rin magawa.
Naiinis ako kasi lagi na lang na kapag aking ipipikit ang aking mata ay nakikita ko siya.
Napagdesisiyonan ko munang umalis ng kompanya para makalimutan ko naman muna ang problema ko. Nagtungo ako sa parking lot at agad na pinaandar ang kotse. Hindi ko alam kung saan ako pupunta pero sinusundan ko lang kung saang distinasyon ako dalhin ng aking sarili.
Huminto ako sa isang tabing dagat na hindi din naman masyadong malayo sa kompanya. Bumaba ako sa kotse at naglakad-lakad sa buhangin at sinusundan ko lang kung saan ako dalhin ng aking mga paa. Habang inililibot ko ang aking paningin ay mayroon akong isang taong napansin sa hindi kalayuan na babaeng naka-upo sa tabing dagat. Dahan-dahan ko itong nilapitan at nang tuluyan ng makalapit ay nangunot ang aking noo ng makita ko siyang muli.
Ang babaeng hindi mawala sa aking isipan, ang babaeng palagi kong nakikita sa aking panaginip, ang babaeng palaging lumalabas sa aking paningin kapag sinusubukan kong pumikit. Nakita ko na naman siya. Nakita ko na naman ang mukha niya.
