The sun had set over Coruscant, casting long shadows across the towering spires of the Jedi Temple. I stood in a quiet corner of the Temple gardens, the familiar sights and sounds of the Order creating a serene backdrop for what would be a significant moment.

Master Tholme approached, his robes flowing gracefully behind him. He had come to bid farewell before his new assignment as the Jedi Watchman of the Kiffu sector took him away. It was a bittersweet moment for me. The Master had been a guiding force in my life, and now I faced the next chapter in my journey without his direct mentorship.

"Master Tholme," I greeted him, my voice carrying a mix of respect and fondness. "I'm glad we could meet before you leave."

Master Tholme's gaze softened as he looked at me. "Kodo, it's good to see you. I trust you're ready for the responsibilities that lie ahead."

"I am," I replied, feeling the weight of the moment. "I've been assigned an apprentice soon. It's a big step."

The Master nodded, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. "Indeed, it is. You've come a long way since your initiation. I've seen you grow into a skilled Jedi Knight—dedicated, disciplined, and compassionate. It's been an honor to watch you develop."

I lowered my gaze, reflecting on the years of training and challenges. "Thank you, Master. Your guidance has been invaluable. I wouldn't be where I am today without your teachings."

Master Tholme placed a hand on my shoulder, his touch both firm and comforting. "You've earned your place, Kodo. Remember, the path of a Jedi is never easy, but it is one of service and growth. You're ready for this new role. Trust in the Force and in yourself."

His words were a balm to my apprehension. I had always admired Master Tholme's unwavering dedication to the Jedi Code and his ability to balance tradition with practicality. His departure was a reminder of the ever-changing nature of our roles within the Order.

"Will you be okay in the Kiffu sector?" I asked, genuinely concerned. "It's a distant and complex area."

"Indeed," he replied with a nod. "But it's a task I accept with the same dedication I've always had. The galaxy is vast, and there are many places in need of our attention. I'll be fine, Kodo. The Force is with us."

I nodded, feeling a mixture of pride and sadness. "I hope we can meet again someday."

Master Tholme's smile grew warmer. "I have no doubt we will. The Force binds us all. Farewell, Kodo. Serve well and continue to uphold the values we cherish."

As he turned to leave, I watched him go, the figure of my mentor slowly disappearing into the twilight. The weight of his departure settled heavily on my shoulders, but his words resonated deeply within me. They would guide me as I embarked on my new responsibilities.

In the weeks that followed, I prepared for the arrival of my new apprentice. The role of a mentor was a significant responsibility, and I wanted to ensure I was ready to guide and support my future Padawan. I spent countless hours reviewing training materials, reflecting on my own experiences, and seeking advice from other Jedi Masters.

The Temple was abuzz with activity as new apprentices were being assigned to various Jedi Knights. I felt a mix of excitement and nervousness as the day approached when I would meet my apprentice for the first time. I was determined to honor Master Tholme's legacy by being the best mentor I could be.
