FLEETING

Ironic situations are very rare to occur, but when they occur, situations always go out of hand.

"Good morning, Dhruv! Last night was crazy. I had so much fun." Radha still buzzing from their dinner with friends Diya, Celia, Varun, and Ash. They all wanted to stay over, but Dhruv had convinced them to visit daily instead, not wanting them to be stuck under the hospital beds.

Dhruv, still waking up from his sleep, rubbed his eyes. "Morning, Radha. That was just the beginning."

Radha plopped down in the chair beside his bed.
"Acha! Damn! I would love to see what next."
"By the way, doc said I can discharge today. But it's Sunday and I have no plans."

Dhruv nodded sympathetically, "Me too! I wanna have plans, but these people aren't even allowing me step out of this room."

Radha's face fell, "It's all because of me, right"

"Did you cause the lift to fall?"

"No! But you have these injuries because of me."

"Dude! To be honest, I don't feel any pain in any area of my body. I just want to discharge and get out of this suffocating area. So, you are nowhere in fault."

Radha's face brightened and she asked with glowing eyes,
"Well, that means I get to visit you everyday!"
"Can I though?"
"Is that okay with you?"

Dhruv said with a chuckle,
"These is not a jail and I am not a prisoner, even though I am feeling like one. Ofcourse, you can visit me anytime."

Radha beamed, and Dhruv couldn't help but laugh back at her jokes. They chatted for a while, until Radha was kicked out by the hospital faculty as she wasn't required in that room anymore. As she is not a 'patient' anymore.

Meanwhile, in another part of the city. Jhanvi was having a meltdown. She had been trying to reach Dhruv since yesterday, but he wasn't responding to any of her calls or messages. She had sent him over twenty texts, but nothing. She was starting to get worried.
Dhruv lost his phone, as it was crushed in the lift!

"I WANT TO TALK TO HIM" Jhanvi shouts in her room.

"Call him dumbass!" Zoya shouts back from living room.

"I am TRYING! It's 'not reachable' always."

"Maybe he forgot his phone somewhere, as he did before remember?" Rina shouted from kitchen.

"Or maybe he is not interested in you?" Lucy shouted, completely submerged on the sofa.

After a silence of few minutes,
"Maybe he is not interested after all" was the only statement which was barely audible from Jhanvi's room.

All the friends rushed into the room to console her 'depressed' friend.

"Shh! There! There!" Lucy pets Jhanvi as if a cat owner does and says, "Don't worry, let me have him!"

Jhanvi gets offended but clings to her friends as she needed some warm hugs to cure herself from 'crush cold shoulder'.

Just then, Jhanvi's phone rang. She picks up her with excitement it could be from Dhruv, but to her disappointment it was a 'unknown' number.

Jhanvi ignored it, as she was not in a mood to lift unknown calls.

"Pickup!" Rina shouted.

With a dull face she takes the call,
"Hey Jhanvi! It's Dhruv. Sorry I haven't been able to reach you yesterday as my phone is missing. I searched for it everywhere but-.... Jhanvi? Hello?"
