"Friend"
As I entered the library, I spotted Brad sitting at a table near the window, absorbed in a pile of textbooks. I walked over, and he looked up with a smile.
"Hey, Brad! Mind if I join you?" I asked, setting my bag down.
"Not at all," Brad replied. "Grab a seat. I was just working on some reading for my History class."
I took a seat opposite him and pulled out my own materials. "I've got a lot of reading to do too. How's History going for you?"
Brad shrugged, a thoughtful expression on his face. "It's interesting, but it's definitely a lot of work. I'm trying to stay on top of it, though."
"I hear you," I said. "I'm swamped with my Secondary Education and English courses. It feels like there's always something due."
Brad nodded sympathetically. "It's the same with me. But at least we have the weekends to catch our breath, right?"
"Absolutely," I agreed. "Speaking of which, do you have any plans for this weekend?"
Brad leaned back in his chair, considering. "Actually, I was thinking of hitting up that new art exhibit downtown. I remember you mentioned you like art too. Want to come along?"
I brightened at the invitation. "That sounds great! I'd love to check it out."
Brad smiled. "Awesome. Let's plan to meet up on Saturday then."
As we continued talking, the conversation flowed easily, ranging from favorite artists to upcoming exams. It felt natural, like a continuation of our summer chats. By the time we wrapped up our study session, I realized how comfortable and effortless it was to be around Brad.
"Thanks for the chat, Brad," I said as I gathered my things. "I'm looking forward to the exhibit."
"Me too," Brad replied, standing up. "Catch you later!"
As I left the library, I felt a sense of contentment. Meeting Brad more frequently and finding common ground had added a new dimension to my college experience. The unexpected growth of our friendship was a reminder that sometimes the most meaningful connections develop in the most surprising ways.

As Saturday morning rolled around, I found myself feeling excited about the art exhibit Brad had invited me to. I spent the morning reviewing my notes and getting ready, but the anticipation of our outing made the hours fly by. By noon, I was already heading downtown.
I arrived at the art gallery a little early, so I took a moment to admire the sleek exterior of the building. The exhibit was set to start at one, and I hoped Brad would be on time. Just as I was checking my watch, Brad showed up, looking relaxed in a casual jacket and jeans.
"Hey, Brad!" I called out, waving as I approached.
"Hey!" Brad replied, returning the wave with a grin. "I'm glad we're here early. It gives us a chance to grab a coffee before we go in."
"That sounds perfect," I said. "Let's find a café nearby."
We walked a few blocks to a cozy coffee shop and grabbed our drinks. As we sipped our coffee, we chatted about our week and exchanged updates on our coursework.
"So," Brad said, leaning back in his chair. "What did you think of the reading for your Secondary Education class? Anything interesting?"
I chuckled. "Well, it's mostly been about different teaching strategies. It's pretty engaging, but it's a lot to digest. How about your History class? Any standout moments?"
