"We have to stop this wedding." Duncan said, slamming his fist on the mahogany table centred in the middle of their dining room.

Gwen flinched. "But how? Maybe we could approach them at their reunion party?" she asked.

"Yes! I could kiss Courtney in front of Trent!" Duncan grinned.

"Duncan, I don't think Courtney and Trent would want a repeat of last time..." Gwen muttered, cringing thinking of the love triangle scandal. "We'll just... go with the flow and see where it takes us! And if it doesn't work, I give you full permission to kiss Courtney."

"Team Break Courtney And Trent's Wedding Into Pieces So We Can Get Back Together With Them!" Duncan said, punching the air.

"We might need to shorten that name, Duncan."

-big time skip to the reunion-

Courtney stared at herself in the mirror, wearing a flowy mint green dress that complimented her curves and a matching necklace.

Sure, she may have lost a bit of weight but who's to say that would stop her?

Bridgette cautiously entered the room.

"Court, that dress looks a bit loose on you from the last time we tried it on. You sure you haven't lost weight or something?" she asked nervously.

Courtney chuckled. "Don't worry, Bridge. I'm fine." she said as Bridgette zipped the dress up.

But was she?

-another time skip because im lazy-

Duncan and Gwen arrived at the reunion, dressed really fancy.

Fancier than anyone would expect. (This was intentional because they wanted to make their exes gasp in surprise.)

Duncan was wearing a sleek suit and tie, while Gwen as wearing a tight midnight blue dress that caught Courtney's eye.

Oh crap, it's them... Courtney thought, but shook it away.

She sauntered up to them, plastering on a fake grin. Courtney had never wanted to invite them; they were the reasons she and Trent were practically miserable for 2 years.

But they were also the reason she bonded with Heather. So she had to make the most of this. (Also, let's be real, seeing their faces sounded like perfect revenge to Courtney.)

"Hey Gwen! Hey Duncan!" Courtney smiled.

"Hi Courtney!" Gwen tried to say cheerfully, although it came out a bit strained.

Duncan just stood there with his jaw dropped. He scratched the back of his neck sheepishly. "Hey there Court, you look... stunning."

Internally Courtney cringed. Externally, Courtney nodded a quick thank you.

Well, this is going great, Court. Good job on making everything awkward.
