Mina was not quite awake and not quite asleep, lying in a half-dream state on her couch as she begin to rouse herself. The lazy glow from the afternoon sun shining through the living room window blanketed her in delicious warmth, sprawling across and making every inch of her feel impossibly cozy.
Wait though Mina realizes it wasn't just the sunshine giving her this covered feeling. There was also a substantial, persistent weight pressing her down into the couch and it only took a moment to remember the dog they'd picked up from the animal shelter.
Fluffy is still here, still cuddling.
Mina hazily wonders how long they'd been napping. She remembers Kai was planning to go shopping with their mom so that must be why the house was so quiet. She couldn't remember a time when she had napped this long in the afternoon yet she still felt as though she'd drank too much nighttime cold medicine her eyes refuse to open and her limbs were heavy.
Mina's hand lifts just far enough to comb her fingers through the dog's silky fur in easy reach because it's head was resting on her torso. Funnily enough and she blames it on the persistent drowsiness when she caresses Fluffy's 's head, what she feels seems more like human hair than fur but that was impossible.
Unable to peek her eyes open even a millimeter to investigate Mina feels herself slip further back into her dreams.
She couldn't remember the last time she'd slept so well.

Chaeyoung wakes up before Mina, stretching a little to get the stiffness out of her limbs, surprised to find Mina was still sleeping.
Chaeyoung angles her head to get a more comfortable look at Mina's face, soft and relaxed in sleep. She might never work up the nerve to talk to the human one-on-one but while she was here with her and they were cuddled up together what was it going to hurt to admire the view? Honestly she couldn't feel too bad about it when she thought of the way Mina had snuggled up to her and called her a good girl- heck her tail was wagging now just thinking about it.
Mina seemed to enjoy cuddling with her so where was the harm? And besides Mina had called her her emotional support dog. So as her support dog Chaeyoung supposed had the right to stay.
Mina's head was resting on a throw pillow and the afternoon sunlight highlights her face and allows Chaeyoung to see minute details about her that she'd never had the chance to take in before.
Mina was beautiful this way, all smooth skin, black eyelashes lying against her cheeks already flush from the heat of the sun coming in through the large window above them. It could've had something to do with her furry body lying across hers.
Chaeyoung likes the idea of that.
Mina's lips parts slightly and Chaeyoung notices dried saliva at one corner of her lips which made her feel oddly protective of Mina.
At least Chaeyoung hope it was pure protectiveness and not just her being a weirdo she wants to be the only one to see Mina that way other than the girl's family of course. It wasn't that weird was it- wanting to watch Mina sleep while she protected her? It wasn't like she was some psycho who was entertaining thoughts of dragging Mina off to her den somewhere.
Okay Chaeyoung actually kind of wanted to do that too if she was honest with herself but only if Mina wanted to go which she didn't so she needed to stop thinking about Mina that way. She was afraid she was going to embarrass herself if she didn't stop.
