Raven glanced around at the grey squares surrounding her, her eyebrows furrowed. One tile lit up red, one that she would have to jump over another square to reach.
The girl backed up before hurrying forward, getting a running start to the leap she took. She managed to land on the lit tile, putting her arms out as she wobbled, almost losing her balance. She let out a breath once she stabilized herself, peering down at the snow below her.
The frantically turned in circles, trying to catch the next square lighting. She swallower thickly when she saw the sudden glow of a platform three squares away. She wasn't sure if she could jump that far.
Raven backed up, eyeing the green shape as she picked her lips in a state of focus. They were chapped, the cold atmosphere drying them put.
She ran forward, leaping to the tile.
A jolt of pain shot up her leg from her ankle as she landed with a loud snap.
-
Ivy stared at the sky, her brown eyes glued to where the blue clouded sky seemed to rotate. Only one rectangle of space turned as the whirring sounded.
The block of sky seemed to turn to another side of itself, this side identical but with a digital clock displayed. A ten minute timer started, counting down by the second.
-
Raven screamed in pain as she collapsed, the snap and the cry echoing throughout the empty plane.
She landed with a thud on the cold green square, her head smacking against what she guessed was a hard plastic material.
Her head injury was the least of her worries. In fact, she hardly noticed it as she groaned in pain, clutching her ankle. It was surely broken, the girl could feel the distorted form of her ankle by just holding it, and she didn't even want to look at it. Nonetheless, the game continued around her as another square lit with a small bing, making her head shoot up. Her eyes landed landed on a yellow tile, and every square started to blink on and off the longer she waited.
Using every ounce of strength she could muster, Raven propped herself up on her arms, tears spilling from her dark eyes as they eyed the square. Determined, Raven's shaky arms pushed herself to stand on one shaky leg. The girl put out her arms for balance, wobbling on the one good foot she stood on.
Her gaze trained on the yellow light, Raven dove for the tile.
-
Ivy stood in a panic, her sight stuck on the numbers in the sky.
The numbers that where quickly decreasing.
She watched as it went from 9:58, to 9:57, to 56, to 55, to lower...
and lower...
and lower.
Ivy didn't know what to do.
