PAST: Lyra & Brynn (10)

"Lyra, this is Sharron and Brynn." My father says, gesturing to the older blonde woman and her daughter who looks like her mini-me.

"Uh- nice to meet you," I mumble while fidgeting with my bracelet.

"Lyra...Sharron and Brynn will be living with us from now on." He says and I freeze.

"Wha- why?"

I watch as my dad gives Sharron a nervous look but she just nods.

"B- Because she's my wife."

The cup of juice immediately slips from my hand and shatters onto the floor.

"WIFE?! MOM JUST DIED!"

"I know-"

"Oh! For the love of God, Jay! Sweetheart, your father cheated on your mother with me around the same time you were conceived meaning you and Brynn are half sisters. I don't expect you to call me mom but I do expect you to give me some respect, is that understood?" Sharron snaps and my eyes widen even more.

"Sharron!" My dad yells and I feel tears well up in my eyes.

I look at the blonde girl sitting across from me who seems just as shocked as I am.

"Daddy...you lied?" The girl finally whispers.

Daddy? DADDY?!

He's MY dad! Not yours!

"I know baby, I'm sorry but it's alright because we can all be a happy family now!" My dad smiles pathetically and I feel my anger rise.

"No! No, we will NOT be a happy family! You're a liar and you waited a week after mom died to get married?! I HATE YOU!" I scream and everyone in the restaurant looks at us.

"Young lady-"

"Mom, stop!" Brynn cuts her off.

My dad attempts to take my hand but I just push him away and storm out of the restaurant.

I make my way towards our car where Lewis, our driver, is already waiting for us.

"Miss Lyra, what's wrong?" He asks with concern.

Lewis has always been like a second dad to me.

He's been driving me around for God knows how long.

"I want to go to the graveyard."

"Lyra-"

"Please, Lewis!" I beg and he sighs before shutting the door and getting into the driver's seat.
