letter

it had been a month since will and el had moved away to california. things hadn't felt so lonely in hawkins until now.

or at least to mike.

mike had been writing letters back and forth endlessly with el, because it's too risky to talk to her on the phone. And he's been trying to talk on the phone with will for forever, but the line has always been busy. It's exhausting.

one day, as mike had been writing yet another letter to el, he had an idea. an idea that he should've had a while ago.

he was going to start writing will letters, too.

if he couldn't hear will's voice over the phone, letters was his best bet.

so, mike grabbed a piece of paper and started writing..

hey, will! it's mike.

sorry it's taken me so long to write. i mean, i've been trying to call you, but your line has always been busy. i figure it's because of your mom's job, but is there anywhere else i could call you?

i know it sounds insanely cheesy, but i miss your voice. and i miss talking to you about dnd and other stuff..

so, anyway, how has california been? i've heard el's opinions on it, but i wanna know how it is for you. i hope you're having a really good time there. maybe even a better time than you would have in hawkins, considering all that's been happening.

there's not much to fill you in on from my side as of now. it's been kind of boring, if im being completely honest. i mean, its great here. just.. different? i mean, without you being here.

do you have any new art? i would love to see it! if not the real thing, maybe a picture of it, y'know? that would be nice. only if you want to send it, though. no pressure!

well, i'll talk to you later, will. bye!

                                                                                                                                                                -mike :)

mike shoved the letter along with el's under his desk and headed to sleep.
