- Hana, Age 13-
After being held back from entering the Chūnin Exams the previous year to sharpen their skills, Team Guy—now including me—was finally ready to take part in the Chūnin Exams in Konoha. It had been a long wait, but I knew the extra training had made us stronger. My recent birthday had marked not just another year of life but also the beginning of this important chapter. Now, I was standing on the brink of a new challenge, eager and a little nervous about what was to come.
The sun was just beginning to rise as we gathered at our usual training grounds. The air was crisp, carrying the scent of early morning dew, and there was a palpable sense of anticipation in the air. Might Guy had called us for an early meeting to discuss our strategy for the upcoming exams. I could feel the cool grass beneath my sandals as we stood in a circle, all eyes on our sensei, ready to absorb every word of his guidance.
Might Guy's eyes sparkled with the enthusiasm we had all come to know so well. "Alright, my youthful students, the Chūnin Exams are upon us!" he announced, his voice filled with the usual vigor that seemed to electrify the very air around us. "We've trained hard, and now it's time to put our skills to the test. But before we dive in, we need to discuss our strategy."
Rock Lee, ever eager and full of energy, clenched his fists with determination. "Yes, Guy-sensei! We're ready to give it our all!"
I smiled at Lee's enthusiasm, feeling a kindred excitement bubbling up inside me. Tenten, standing beside him, nodded in agreement, her expression focused and serious. "What's the plan, Sensei? We need to make sure we're prepared for anything."
Guy's expression shifted to one of seriousness as he looked at each of us in turn. "I've heard that many of the first-year genin from Hana's class have also been nominated to participate in the exams. This includes Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, and others who have shown remarkable potential."
Neji's eyes narrowed thoughtfully. "If that's the case, we might be at a disadvantage. Our reputation as a strong team could make us targets."
A ripple of nerves ran through me at the mention of Naruto and Sasuke. They were strong—everyone knew that—but I was determined not to let fear cloud my mind. I looked at my teammates, feeling a mixture of excitement and anxiety. "So, what should we do? How can we avoid drawing too much attention to ourselves?"
Guy-sensei folded his arms, his face thoughtful as he considered our options. "We need to play it smart. The Chūnin Exams are not just about raw power; they're about strategy and intelligence. We need to act defenseless and weak. By doing so, we can avoid becoming a target for the other teams."
Rock Lee's eyes widened in surprise. "Act weak? But Guy-sensei, that goes against everything we've trained for!"
Guy placed a reassuring hand on Lee's shoulder, his voice calm and steady. "I know it sounds counterintuitive, Lee, but this is a strategic decision. By appearing weak, we can avoid unnecessary confrontations and conserve our energy for the critical moments."
Tenten nodded, her sharp mind quickly grasping the logic behind the plan. "We need to blend in and not stand out. If we're seen as easy targets, the stronger teams might ignore us."
Neji's expression remained stoic, his mind clearly processing the strategy with his usual sharpness. "It's a sound plan. By underestimating us, they'll give us an advantage when it matters most."
As I listened to my teammates, I felt a surge of determination rising within me. This was it—the strategy that would guide us through the exams. "Alright, let's do it," I said, my voice firm with resolve. "We'll act meek and weak, but we'll be ready to show our true strength when the time comes."
