Days passed, and the distance between Olivia and Sam grew. She had thrown herself into her work, trying to lose herself in the familiar routine of the shop, but her mind was never far from the turmoil that had overtaken her heart. The tension between them was palpable, even in his absence. She could feel it in every breath, every thought that wandered to the memory of his touch, his voice, his presence.

She had avoided him since that fateful conversation, using the excuse of needing time to sort through her emotions. But the truth was, she missed him-missed the way made her feel alive, the way he challenged her, pushed her, and yes, the way made her heart race with a single look.

The desire that simmered just beneath the surface was a constant reminder of what they had shared, and despite the hurt, despite the betrayal, Olivia couldn't deny that she still wanted him. It was a desire that gnawed at her, a fire that refused to be extinguished no matter how hard she tried to push it away.

One evening, after another long day at the shop, Olivia found herself sitting in her apartment, staring at the wall, her thoughts consumed by Sam. She had been fighting this-fighting the need, the longing-but it was no use. The more she tried to deny it, the stronger it grew.

Her phone buzzed on the coffee table, pulling her out of her thoughts. She glanced at the screen, her heart skipping a beat when she saw Sam's name.

I miss you.

Three simple words, but they hit her like a ton of bricks. She stared at the message, her pulse quickening, her body responding to the flood of emotions that the words. evoked. She knew she shouldn't respond, knew that she needed more time, but the pull was too strong, too overwhelming.

I miss you too, she typed back, her hands trembling slightly as she hit send.

Almost immediately, her phone buzzed again.

Come to my place. We need to talk.

She hesitated for only a moment before making her decision. She was tired of the distance, tired of the confusion and the pain. If there was a chance to clear the air, to figure out where they stood, she had to take it.

On my way, she replied, already grabbing her keys and heading out the door.

The drive to Sam's apartment was a blur, her mind racing with thoughts of what would a happen, what he would say. But beneath the uncertainty, beneath the fear, was a current of desire that she couldn't ignore-a desire that had been building since the momenta they had met and that now threatened to consume her.

When she arrived at his building, Olivia barely registered the doorman's greeting as she made her way to the private elevator. Her heart was pounding in her chest, her body humming with anticipation as the elevator climbed to the top floor.

When the doors finally opened, she stepped out into the hallway, her breath catching in her throat as she saw Sam standing there, waiting for her. He was dressed casually in dark jeans and a fitted shirt that hugged his muscular frame, his eyes intense as they locked onto hers.

"Olivia," he said softly, his voice laced with emotion.

She didn't respond, couldn't find the words as she took in the sight of him-the way his eyes darkened with a mix of desire and something deeper, something that made her knees weak. The air between them crackled with tension, a tension that had been building for days, weeks, and that now seemed ready to snap.

Without thinking, Olivia stepped forward, closing the distance between them. She could see the conflict in his eyes, the way he was fighting to hold back, to give her the space she had asked for. But she didn't want space-not anymore.
