Scars

Chapter 2

After a couples weeks schools is going good and I'm doing good in my classes. I've been going to breakfast every morning with Dani and my cousin Selena. I've also grow close to Bell she's my best friend. But today we get a new elective, so I'm excited for that.

We get off the bus and we walk into the school building and wait for Selena's bus to get here. I think back to last night when the boys deddy and mama was arguing because she had stole some of his money for dope. I'm so sick of this. Selena's bus gets here and she give me a hug and then starts talking to Dani.

After a few minutes the bell rings and Mrs Evie and her friend walk in the lobby to go to their positions. Dani, Selena and I get in line for breakfast. We get up to line and get our food "Good morning mama." One of the lunch lady's says to me. "Good morning." I reply with a smile. That just made my day.

We then put out lunch numbers in and go to sit down, as I walk pass Mrs Evie she just stares at me. Uh that's weird.

After breakfast I walk to first period. Me and Bell get our new electives and look at them together me, her, Anna, Edie and Sherwood got none of than Mrs Evie. So we walk to her class and she holds the door open for us, how sweet. We just stand there sense we don't know where to sit. She comes in and sits down at her desk at the back of the class.

She puts on her glasses and gets a paper she starts telling people where to sit. She gets to me. "Brooklyn I want you at 11." She says. Which is at the front of the class. And then she tells Sherwood to sit at 12. We do a little work sheet of our parents numbers and stuff and then a little work sheet about us and what we like to do.

Me and Sherwood talk some and he is actually so funny. After we leave that class we go to school third period and before I know it it's the end of the day. Today went by fast. I say bye to my friends and walk to the buses. Not really ready to get home and see what the fuss is gonna be able today. I put on my Jesus music and wait until I know I'm also at our house.

Once I get home I try not to pay much attention to mama and Leon and just talk to the boys and Dani some about their day. Then I wash and read my Bible. Tonight I read 2 Timothy 2:12 "If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us." Then I say my prayers and drift off to sleep.

I hear my alarm go off and get up. I get ready for school and today I decided to just wear a blue t shirt and some jeans then my Nikes. I do my hair and just leave it down. Then I read my devotional and we walk down the dirt road to catch the bus since Leon took the van away from mama.

We go to breakfast and as I'm about to sit down, I noticed Selena saved the seat beside her for Dani even though I should have gotten it because I was before her in line. "I love you." Selena says as she chuckles while I go to the other table to sit down. "Yeah right, nah I'm just kidding I love you." I say as I walk past Mrs Evie and she just looks at me.

After first period we walk to Mrs Evies class. Bell has her arm wrapped around mine talking about how her crush James that is her neighbor and also her brother's best friend. Yeah I know right what a love story. We walk into the class room and take our seats, Mrs Evie speaks as everyone sits down. "Today we're gonna do typing for 15 minutes and then we'll work on coding for the rest of class, alright you may begin." She says.

I finish my typing as I look over realize Sherwoods just been playing games on his phone the whole time since our backs are turned towards Mrs Evie and she can't see what he's doing. I just watch as he continues to play. After a few minutes Mrs Evie gets up and walks to the front of the class at her other desk right beside where me and Sherwood sit.

"Alright now got to coding." She says. I go to coding and then she begins talking us through how to code. It's pretty easy and I love designing it and stuff. As she talks she makes eye contact with me and she doesn't break it either. No teacher has ever held eye contact with me. And she did that the whole lesson.

Once we get done and she goes back to her desk at the back of the class. We pack up and go to our third period. Today seems to go by fast as well. But I can't get over the eye contact with Mrs Evie she has the most beautiful eyes. Like the most bluest clear water. That's what her eyes remind me of.

Once I get home and wash I read my Bible and tonight I read psalm 34:18 "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."
