One And Only Gown

Leaving the entrance to the party hall, AiLin found herself with a moment of annoyance. The annoyance stem from her anxiousness, worrying why someone like Li ZiChen would be following her around. Even her attempt to scare him away earlier seemed to be met with his smile. It was as if everything was all fun and exciting to him. She decided to stop thinking about him as she was in time that's important to her plan.

The party hall was dim. Many people were still staring at her as if the rumor of her entering the hotel with Li ZiChen had spread like wildfire amongst the hungry for gossip guests. Taking a moment to look around the party hall, AiLin decided to walk to the second floor and then lean her head downward to see the lower floor. She decided to take the higher ground which allow her to scan the people in the party. There was a few of people whose faces she recognize, those people seemed to still be in a tight knit relationship with the Jiang Family.

Those people were also the ones who were well aware of the abuses she had went through, the people who stayed quiet and took the stance as bystanders. But they weren't quite her target. The person who she wanted to find was no where to be seen which made her wonder if the party girl herself and her family is late to the birthday party.

She wondered what could happen. It was odd for them to be late for their best day. Usually these people would even start the party earlier so they could flaunt their happiness around. The others on the second floor seemed to be confused as well and some turned to gossip, muttering something that AiLin was curious about.

As she was watching, she saw a rather familiar face that captured her attention. Her eyebrows furrowed and a certain anger filled her heart. She slowly walked down the floor and made her way closer to the person in question. The woman, on the other hand, seemed to have not notice AiLin's presence and was walking while her eyes were on the floor, running on her heels with a bottle of champagne. In an instance they both crashed and AiLin leisurely maintained her balance while she watched the girl fall to the floor, her bottom hitting the ground in a loud crash and the bottle of champagne shattering beside her.

Flared with anger, the girl's eyes immediately snapped toward AiLin and she yelled, "What the fuck did you do?! Can't you keep your fucking eyes on the road?"

Wan GouRu. The loyal dog of Jiang NianNian. How amusing to find her as soon as she got out of the prison. She was indeed one of the person in her list for revenge.

Wan GouRu in the past wasn't as confident as she is now. She couldn't even utter a cuss word as she was too shy and lack the confidence to even raise her hand when she needed help.

AiLin remembered seeing her eating alone during high school and decided to befriend her, eventually encouraging her to have more confidence in herself. The girl however ended up betraying her, allowing the bullying to magnify and even participated in it herself. Not only mentally but also— physically.

She stared as Wan GouRu barked multiple times, demanding for her to explain what she had done even though she was the one who had bumped to her first. AiLin slowly bent her knees, sitting right in front of her as she stared at the sharp shattered pieces of glass right beside her. Before her fingers landed to any of the pieces, she smiled and turned to Wan GouRu, "My apologies, I was simply walking without noticing that you were in a rush. I hope you are alright?"

Wan GouRu had been yelling earlier but now that she had taken a closer look to AiLin who had stretched out her hand to help her stand, she noticed how AiLin appeared to be a wealthy young lady. Her hair was silky, her face smooth and clean. Her dress was the one that was just plastered over the catalogue, the one and only midnight gown that was only made a single piece. The reason why Wan GouRu immediately recognized it is because Jiang NianNian had kept a close eye on the gown, knowing well that it would make her fame skyrocket if she wore that gown that only one person in the whole world could obtain but before she could, someone else had gotten it!

It was no secret who had bought it as the known Li ZiChen himself had went to the designer, keeping the design to him before it was even in the catalogue.

Every socialites in Beijing knew too well that the gown could only belong to Li ZiChen. Yet this woman was wearing the gown!

Wan GouRu immediately faltered before AiLin could even say a single word. Recognizing that she might have just angered someone close to Li ZiChen made Wan GouRu to immediately fear for her life. The last time she heard about Li ZiChen being offended by a woman who wanted to force him into sleeping with her, he had destroyed her family's business overnight and made the woman work in sketchy businesses... she didn't want to be one of his victims!

In fear, she scrambled backward and pushed to stand herself, "N-No problem! I am alright. I was the one who was in a rush and didn't notice it first. I'm sorry I have to go now, my best friend has been waiting for me."

AiLin watched as Wan GouRu flee in a second. She slowly touched her own face that had showed a brief reflection on the glass. She noticed that her face appeared so cold and perhaps she had scared Wan GouRu that way. Though she wondered why Wan GouRu's eyes were at her dress the whole time. She doubted that Wan GouRu recognized her as AiLin though as if she had known about it, she would have yelled for the security's help.

Something was suspicious but Wan GouRu might have just helped her. AiLin slowly stood up and followed Wan GouRu's traces, knowing that she was about to show her directly to where Jiang NianNian is... the woman who she would gut from inside out.
