"Are you serious?"
Satoru shrugged his shoulders. "Am I ever truly serious?"
Suguru threw a tissue box at Satoru's head and watched in frustration as it bounced off his infinity. "Don't be shy. Turn that off so I can kick your ass."
"I like my nose where it is, thank you very much."
"Scared I'm gonna beat you up Gojo?"
" . . . Is that not obvious?"
Suguru laughed. "Jeez. How the hell do you always do that?"
"Do what?"
"Make things less serious." Suguru leaned forward and rested his elbows on his knees. "I mean you're shockingly calm about everything."
Satoru merely shrugged his shoulders. "What good is working ourselves up over it going to do? It's not going to solve the problem. So you deal with it. You do that all the time."
"Oh?" The dark haired boy raised a brow, "How do you figure?"
"Dude, you staged your own disappearance so this whole thing could work. I'm pretty sure you bit the bullet for the two of us. Do you have any idea how bad I would have been if it was me?"
Suguru rolled his eyes. "Obviously. That's why I went. To make sure that all the shit that needed to get done actually got done. You would have just cried the whole time."
Satoru didn't deny it. "Absolutely."
"Did you not cry when Yaga partnered (Y/n) and Shoko up for a project?"
"Will you ever shut up about that?"
"No." Suguru smirked, "Because it was the funniest shit ever."
Satoru scowled. "I still can't believe Yaga thought it was a good idea. I was devastated."
"Yeah, well, Yaga's not exactly known for his empathy," Suguru said, a grin widening on his face. "But hey, you survived, didn't you?"
"Barely. I was deprived of a vital mineral."
" . . . Quit referring to our girlfriend as a mineral."
Satoru tried to stifle a laugh, but it came out anyway. "You know she's a bit of a rock, though."
Suguru groaned and rubbed his temples. "I can't believe I'm friends with you sometimes."
Satoru's grin only widened. "Hey, you love it. I'm the funny one in the friend group."
"Really? I thought you were just the ugly one."

Shoko sat at her desk, reading a newspaper.
She'd never actually read a newspaper up until today. But she had seen it in the grocery store, and the headline had caught her eye.
Where are the stars of your favourite shows now?
She wasn't one to fall for clickbait ( . . . in this case read-bait) but she did. She was tired - and in her tired state, she decided that the read sounded fun.
It in fact, was not.
Shoko frowned at the newspaper as she flipped through the pages. The article was full of updates on celebrities who had once been on top of the world but were now struggling in various ways. The sensationalized headlines and dramatic photos felt almost invasive. She sighed and set the paper aside, rubbing her eyes.
