At exactly 7pm, when his work was done for the day, Draco stood up and walked to the department for care for magical creatures. When the elevator opened he walked to the office of the head of department.“Hello Mr. Malfoy. She’s till talking to Mr. Potter? She’ll be done any minute.” The head’s assistant said. Draco smiled a smile that could sweep every woman off her feet.
“Thank you. Do you mind if I wait here?”
“No problem.” Draco stood next to the door. The fact he wore muggle clothing surprised a lot of people in the beginning, but they got used to it. He waited patiently outside for the conversation to end.
After 15 minutes of waiting Harry walked out the office. He said goodbye to Hermione and turned to leave as he spotted Draco. He looked at him confused. “Potter.” Draco greeted him properly, trying to be polite. Harry was confused because it was the first time because it was the first time he saw Draco after the redo year at Hogwarts. And that in muggle clothing. As he shook out of his trance, he almost shouted in pure confusion. “Malfoy?!”
“You can go inside Malfoy, I’ll see you in a minute.” Draco nodded and walked inside. “I’ll see you next week Harry. Tell Ginny I said hi.”
“I’ll do that.” Harry said bye but actually stayed because he wanted to know what Malfoy was up to. He stayed just next to the door after Hermione closed it.
“Sorry, I didn’t think that it would be a long talk. Otherwise I would’ve called.” He heard Hermione.
“Don’t worry Mia, it isn’t healthy for you. Also like I care. I know he’s your best friend. When are we going to tell them by the way?”
“This weekend. I told mom I was bringing along someone.” After Hermione had found out she couldn’t undo her own spell on her parents, Molly had officially adopted her. Ever since, she called her mom and Arthur dad. Harry too, was adopted after the war by the two. After a long silence, he heard Malfoy and hid himself further into the shadows.
“Come on, let’s get you home. You’re tired. Don’t say you aren’t because I saw you yawning two minutes ago.”
“Okay.” Hermione walked out of the office, her head resting on Draco’s shoulder, who’s hand was wrapped around her waist. Harry's jaw dropped to the floor.
“Mi-Mione??” Hermione turned her head and faced Harry, who had come out of the shadows by now. “What? How? I don’-”
“Okay, we” she said pointing to Harry, Draco and herself “are not discussing this here.” She pulled Harry back into the office. Draco followed her.
“Mione, what is going on? Why are you so cozy with Malfoy?”
“I thought that was obvious.” Draco huffed, earning a slap from Hermione.
“Well Harry, you see. Remember when we were both in the redo year when we were both heads?” Harry nodded. “Well, we called a truce, became friends and we even started dating. Last month, Draco proposed and I said yes. We were going to tell you this weekend, but, well, you found out already.”
“He doesn’t hurt you does he?”
“What do you think of me, Potter? Why would I hurt her? I love her.” Hermione smiled at him.
“You love her?” Harry was slowly going into overprotective brother mode. ‘Poor Draco’ Hermione thought. ‘Today he’s facing Harry, but Sunday he has to face Bill, Charlie, Fred, George and Ron…’.
“Of course I do, I have since the end of fourth year. I hated to insult her, but otherwise Voldemort would’ve hurt her.” Hermione’s eyes started to drop and Draco noticed. “Now if you don’t mind, I’m taking her home because she’s falling asleep.” Harry chuckled.
“I’ll see you on Sunday, I guess.” Draco nodded as Harry walked out.
“Come on, let’s get you and the little one home.” Hermione nodded and Harry threw his head around.
“Little one?" Are you-” Hermione nodded smiling, while her eyes fell closed again. Draco shook his head amused.
“Not to be rude Harry, but she needs her sleep. She’s falling asleep right now. You know what, just visit tomorrow, we both have a day off. Just keep your wife out of it.” Draco grinned at the brunette in his arms. He slid his arms under her knees and carried her bridal style. Her head slumped against his shoulder. Harry nodded in agreement.
“I’ll be there around noon.”
